Quickmarch 488
There's a new kid on the block - called "Brave". It's a browser that is very similar to Chrome but cuts out all (or most of) the advertising and tracking that we're saddled with on Google. Unfortunately, it isn't friendly to MH. It does strange things if you try to reply to a post. Too bad because I'm always looking to get rid of things that track my activities - I do nothing nefarious, just the principal of the thing. So, it's back to the VPN and Google Browser for me.
allardjd 1,853
I use DuckDuckGo for a search engine, for the same reason and have as little to do with Google as possible, aside from Google Earth, which is just too darned good to boycott. John
phil white 274
No doubt it will be plagued with adverts over time just like the others.
dogtrack 346
A" Firefox" person myself, in conjunction with CCleaner. Never liked the UI of "Chrome". If you want real privacy then "Tor" is your best bet. http://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-manual.html.en Edited December 2, 2018 by dogtrack
mutley 4,497
I often use Vivaldi, a Chrome derivative. @March I'll take a look at the that browser to see if there's anything that can be done.

Quickmarch 488
Agree with @allardjd on the DuckDuckGo search engine. It is one of the choices in the Brave list of search engines. Yes, I do use a paid version (Pro) of CCleaner. Thanks Joe, I'll look into Vivaldi
