rosariomanzo 545
Now I'm running in a fast car that I just rent at Plantyre airport. I can't believe it, how could I forget... THE BATON? Maybe the high temperatures, maybe the two pizzas I ate yesterday, or maybe the three baba cakes. Yes, the baba cakes, too much rhum, rhum is the guilty in this story! Now I remember, I left the bag with the baton in the lounge. Mikael gave it to me, then he went to sleep. And I forgot it. Damned baba cakes. I hope the barman has put it in a safe place. I don't want to become a tea boy. I am a pilot! :nea: I have to hurry. I must come back to Plantyre with the baton as soon as possible. Run, baby, run! I will have to rent an aircraft there... no problem, I'll put it on Mut's bank account! Late in the afternoon, I'm at Polokwane again. "Barman!" "Hey captain! Did you forget something?" And he showed me the baton with a strange grin on his face. "Phew! I love you! Please, give it to me" The barman didn't say anything, just moved his head left and right twice. That stupid grin was still there. Easy to realize, he wanted a reward. Well, i'll put it on Mut's account, too! Now I have the baton, all I need is an aircraft, a copilot, a navigator and an engineer. Too easy, still some money from Mut's account and... ta-daaaa!!! We are ready to go! In a few minutes we are heading to the sky again. The sun is going down... ...and the view from the cockpit is so beautyful. I'm so happy that the baton is safely on board. In a few minutes, the night has come: To make the things better, visibility goes down and we find ourselves suddenly in a storm: I have control, let's put her down: A bit bumpy, but we are on ground: Slowing her down: After landing check: THE BATON IS THERE! I had to pay something more for the airport services, I know Mut will understand... I hope you enjoyed this little adventure. Sorry if I have not been able to write something more, english is not my first language and what I thought in italian was not easy for me to translate. I hope you can understand. Sure, I've had a lot of fun with this flights. Anyway, the baton is safe in my hands, and I'm sure Joe will close an eye on his reduced bank account! Thank you all for watching. Ciao!!! allardjd 1,853
Nicely done, Rosario. The C-130 is a great choice and I'm sure the weight of the baton was of little consequence. Thanks for an entertaining series. John
