mutley 4,498
Nice work JK I wonder if the "Rae" should be slightly bigger? It may just be the B/W photo distorts the perspective a little. Definitely a super paint job, well done :icon_thumbup:
jankees 917
One more paint for this fantastic bird:

jankees 917
Shame on you Kieran! One of the very best models for any WWII fighter around, and quite a few nice repaints too I might add... like this (not quite finished yet) one:
hurricanemk1c 195
Nice repaints Jankees! I'm afraid that my computer might not be able to support the 'Thud'!
jankees 917
why not? if it can run FSX, it can run the P-47. A2A birds are usually very nice on the framerates, I've never had any problems.
hurricanemk1c 195
Maybe - I might have to try it then once I've got enough money!
Sabre 28
Superb repaints Jankees. I'm a huge A2A fan with the Piper, P-47, Spitfire and now the B-17 in my hangar. I have many of your repaints and they are excellent, so thank you for your time and effort
jankees 917
Thank you Sabre! I did a lot of paints for all A2A birds, so it is good to hear you like them. Meanwhile, a small update, nearly finished:

jankees 917
It's been a while, but here are a few more paints for the Jug: #39 was the P-47 Lt Gwynne Peirson of the 302nd FS, 332nd FG was flying when he sank a minelayer in Trieste Harbour, together with wingman Wendell Pruitt in june 1944. Both men received the DFC for this action. 2Z-D "Raid Hot Mama" was the aircraft flown by Lt John W. Drummond of the 510th FS, 405th FG. He was shot down flying another aircraft on 26 july 1944 while strafing german guns emplacements, and finished the war as a POW. Raid Hot Mama was also shot down a few days later, while being flown by another pilot. Lt Drummond became a legislator for the South Carolina Senate, and I believe Senator Drummond is still alive today.
