Aircraft Aviation 2
Just testing out my newly aquired drumkit. This in an UNPREPARED test, so expect some mistakes. The beat is "Jesus of Suburbia" by Green Day. By the way, if you want to see the fast drum fills they come after about 0:30 in the video. This was recorded with two professional drum microphones and a Numark M1 mixer. I'm still fine tuning everything, but this is a start =). Jack I also play Electric/Acoustic Guitar, a little Bass, Trumpet, Violin, Piano... Any requests just ask :001_th_smiles89: .

Aircraft Aviation 2
I would have loved to have seen that! Oh I bet you would. You should see my hair :icon_thumbup: . By the way, me and my band are recording the FULL Album of "American Idiot" by Green Day. We're donig the songs in order, and having currently cracked song no1 (American Idiot), we're onto number 2, Jesus of Suburbia; hence why I used the drum fills.

stu7708 244
PROVE IT WAS YOU JACK! We on THE Forum demand nay DEMAND a video as proof! What say you Guys? Yeah, come on Jack.. give us a video of you behind that kit  Great to have a fellow musician around here too, but I know my limits and stick to the guitar (and bass if forced).. sticking me behind a drumkit would make Animal of the muppets sound like a perfect drummer :th_smiles73: On a more serious note, it did sound good even if the cymbals was a little sharp for my liking.. and working with just two overhead microphones that could be hard to adjust for in the mix. On the three of four occasions I've been in a recording studio we always opted for dedicated microphones for at least the snare and bass drum, and if there where channels available in the mixer we usually put one on each Tom too. But it always comes down to what gear you have available when you record. What kind of gear do you use to produce the final mix?

Aircraft Aviation 2
Here's another one for you lads. This time the song is American Idiot. Again, a quick unprepared one minute warm up. I just recorded for fun. I'm working on a video Brian =D. Thanks Stu for your interest. I used two professional drum microphones, a "Yoga D727" which is more suited to the general beat of hi-hat+snare. My second Microphone is a "Yoga D636", more suited to the very choing sound of the bass drum and tom toms. The D636 is mounted above and imbetween the hi-tom and mid-tom. The D727 is mounted next to my cymbal, to the right of my whole setup. When used together, these produce an AWESOME sound which I often prefer to the more "mainstream" recordings that you hear on the radio. The mixing device is a Numark M1 2-Channel Mixer. It offers full bass, treble, gain and volume control. It also has an extra input for a microphone and an extra output for headphones (the standard outputs are the RCA white/red ones, plugs straight into my PC). My father has made me a small box that allows an extra third channel to be plugged in, handy if I'm recording with my band for electric guitar. Jack
