mutley 4,498
Our latest review is of a release from the very popular VFR Generation X series of photographic scenery, Volume 5 Shetlands and Orkneys. This is the second in a series of 5 releases for Scotland planned to reach our screens up until March 2011. So have the team at Horizon managed to keep up the quality as good as before? Our Staff Reviewer Brian Buckley has taken a look, residing in the Highlands himself and a regular visitor to the islands we couldn't think of a better person for the review! Read on ... ddavid 149
Well done, Bri' - you've struck a nice balance between the complexities and features of the pacckage and your own personal experience. And I think your score is right on the nose - the screenshots prove that, too! Thanks for sharing! Cheers Dai.
Tim_A 997
The only comment I'd add is that a group of the beta testers[*] have put together a package of enhancements for the Orkney and Shetland scenery. This package consists of all airports and airstrips together with blended flattens, lighthouses, including the Barrel of Butter and the Skerries light, road traffic and ai air traffic all accurately placed. Default objects are used in the main, but there is some bespoke models, such as the Old Man of Hoy. The package can be used either with or without ScotFlight. In order to use the air traffic files it is necessary to have on your system two freeware ai aircraft. Full instructions are available in the comprehensive manual incuded in the package. Download it from Flightsim.com at http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=152080 or AVSIM http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=154944&CatID=fsxscen [*] including me, for the purposes of disclosure

I gave Brian the heads up on this but I think it was after he had submitted the review, It has taken me 2 weeks to do the web page as I have real world issues at the moment. However, I will add the AVSIM link to the review now as it's only fair to mention it, thanks for the reminder. Regards, Joe EDIT: Review updated
