Troy 0
Hey All, Anyone know an airport in FS X where there is a hangar with the doors open that could fit an aircraft in it using the default scenery? I am looking for one for something that I am working on.
allardjd 1,853
It sticks in my mind that someone (Aerosoft?) put out a freeware add-on hangar a few years ago that featured a door that would open when you tuned the COM2 radio to a certain frequency. I think it had other widgets attached, including a sign that could be customized, and maybe some other things. With a decompiler, the FS SDKs and a little XML, most anything is possible. I don't recall if the free hangar was usable in FSX or not and don't know where it can be had from, but I'll bet others on this forum will know and will post here... allardjd 1,853
Ahhh - found it - Eaglesoft, not Aerosoft. I was barking up the wrong tree. Go to the Flightsim.com download site and search for the file... esdghang.zip It appears to be for FS9 - not sure if it will work for FSX or not. There may be something on the Eaglesoft site too. ddavid 149
You're right, Hawk-Eye!! Chingachgook would've been proud of you... Joe and I used the Eaglesoft hangar for Mutley's headquarters at EGHI. The download is available here and it works in FSX as well as FS9. Cheers - Dai.

needles 1,013
Hi Joe, It's not default but I actually parked a cessna in a hangar on Guernsey. A la Earth Simulations. Cheers Needles
allardjd 1,853
Dai, You're the only guy on this site who I would expect to know how to spell Chingachgook without looking it up. I expect there aren't many who know who he was either - certainly none of the youngsters. John
Tim_A 997
Russell Means, in the movie...
allardjd 1,853
Well, that was the remake - the original was played by Robert Barrat in 1936. I have not seen the new one, and I doubt that Dai has either. John
IcedUpPitotTube 0
There is default scenery at Edwards AFB (Only with Acceleration). It is VERY good scenery, best default ever. The hangar doors are open, and you can fit a B737 in there. Inside, there are two parked airplanes and a lot of detail... just another alternative to freeware.
