reef 3
Hey chaps.. Seeing POSKY had released a new model it only seemed right i fly it. The ERJ-145 is mighty fine and is soon to have a very good VC also but as far as im aware not avaliable yet. Time is an issue for me right now so it was to be a short hop between EDDF Frankfurt/Main and EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol. On to the Flight.... Crew aboard doing preflight over at gate V102, almost on the autobahn. This terminal area is used mainly by commuter aircraft. People aboard about to make a move. We are cleared VFR and are to taxi to 25R. An unusual shot for me but is posted to show how i ended up avoiding a wait in line. I taxied in from the bottom left as a Lufthasa flight goes to position and hold. I got clearance before both the Air France and the American Airlines flights. Position and hold, i'm sure i heard a frenchman shouting! Rotate... Frequency change approved as we climb from Frankfurt. Turning on course as we head for FL50 Autopilot engaged. So much for light cloud, heading for clearer skies at FL90. Better up here but still clipping cloud tops, seems a storm is brewing. Dropping to FL30 with our approach instructions recieved. Passing Amsterdam with a ferry sat in the river. A few rumbles of thunder heard. The sun breaks through as we deploy gear. We are to land on 18L The sun is gone now as we turn into the murk for the crosswind leg. As we descend on final it all gets worse, heavy crosswind gust come from nowhere as the sky opens up. I was expecting the airport to go IFR only as the rain batters us. An NWA flight holds position as we begin to flare... ...touching down on a drenched runway we arrive safe. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome as always good or bad. steve
mutley 4,495
Pure art reef well done! I looks like you got your own private challenge going there! Don't worry about queue jumping the Frenchman he shouldn't be using the RT to rant! Love the "nose on shot" and the splashdown! Cheers

ddavid 149
Just magic - can't say fairer than that, can I?!? ThinkPam & I went to Frankfurt on one of these, a couple of years ago - werry smooth, my son, werry smooth - and so are your shots....... Thanks for sharing - it is appreciated. dgor 0
Reef, you owe me a new jaw :???: Fantastic shots, and that looks like a beautiful model. The ERJ-145 is one of my faves, but I've always held off getting the Wilco one because of its dodgy model. I'm tempted to buy it now just to merge the panel  Dave
