needles 1,013
Hi Guys, After over 1500 miles of driving, shared by me and Wifey, we got back to base near EGPE and I have finally got a chance to upload some pics from a great weekend at Weston Flight Sim Show. We met our leader at a B&B near Weston-Super-Mare on Friday afternoon. What a nice guy :icon_thumbup: . Not as scarey as he appears on the forum.:th_smiles73: Dai joined us with his good lady and the scene was set to have a jolly good time that evening in The Old Inn. We strolled down to the Inn as it was a fine spring evening and there waiting outside for us was Jack and his Dad, Martin. OK, the gang was now together. We were booked in for a fine meal and drinks all round. The banter was great until we started ordering food. What to choose from a very extensive menu was difficult because although the steaks are always a favourite, Jack wanted a burger :001_th_smiles48: This was not MacD's. Well my eyes were fit to burst when I eyeballed Jacks burger. ( The pictures you may have already seen of Jack's burger do not do it justice. This is more accurate trust me) After gorging himself on that little lot, it was a wonder he could still walk. We all had a great evening and departed to our respective B&Bs. Next day we met at the show. This is the organiser of the show Simon Tolley dressed for the occassion. Jack and Martin's impromtu stand got a steady stream of interest all day. Well done Guy's!:001_th_smiles89: Martin at the helm. (Is that the right word?) I went off in search of inspiration for my home built cockpit which has been on a back burner for too long and I came across quite a bit of material and ideas. Bob and Carol Sidwick's RCSimulation's stand was always mobbed when I tried to get near it hence the blurry pic'. Applogies. It was a great day and while wifey was away shopping in WestonSM, I went to the Flightstore stand a snaffled a Saitek TPM Panel for my pit build yet to come. Also made a new friend in Andy from Flightstore. It's all about who you know.:th_smiles73: Well, after a really great weekend away, I am sure it is going to be a regular jaunt for Wifey and me. I can thoroughly reccommend a trip to Weston just for the Flight Sim' Show and you will also get to see all the great exhibits in the Heli' Museum, killing two birds with one stone. Cheers to Joe, Dai, Jack and Martin for a brilliant trip. Thanks for looking in.

mutley 4,498
I hate to pee on anyone's bonfire, but this is how it really was! A micro burger, one bite and it's gone :hi:
allardjd 1,853
A beef quarter and three loaves of bread - the Earl of Sandwich would have been proud. Christ could have served the crowd on the mount with two of them - with enough leftovers for the Last Supper. John
needles 1,013
Superb replies Guys, my sides are splitting and not from a burger or two. Oddly no response from the burgermeister. Come on Jack own up. Cheers guys
Aircraft Aviation 2
Hi Everyone, Well yes, lots of pictures but Dai's is probably the most accurate! :icon_thumbup: I haven't been on tonight; mainly due to me & friend doing a flight from YSCH to YSTW, with the proper charts, half of the HSI working (haven't got it all scripted yet!)... "The Works"!. I can see that the truly biblical burger will be talked of for years to come! Indeed, next year, lets see if we can have a similar culinary challenge! needles 1,013
Well, it was even bigger from where I was sitting... Cheers - Dai. I see Martin has his red cloak at hand. Is that burger getting ready to charge? Ole!
allardjd 1,853
It's too well done to charge - they have to be very rare for that to occur. Speaking of charge - what did that thing cost, if it's not too rude to ask? John
needles 1,013
Hey John, That monster costs about 6 or 7 of our british pounds. It weighed about 30lbs.:th_smiles73: But Jack rugby tackled it to the floor and bit it's head off. ..................................................................................... Apologies, I have just been watching Lady Gaga.:icon_thumbup:
allardjd 1,853
Quote I have just been watching Lady Gaga. Ah, I'd only watch her if she were in my yard, and then only to make sure she wasn't trying to get in the house. :th_smiles73: John
needles 1,013
Quite right John. A free airing on British TV so I thought I'd have a look see. Mmmm! I think she is very talented in her own world but I couldn't listen to more than a couple of songs.....nae! screechings. A lot of work has obviously gone into her stage productions and is probably worth every penny to those that like her sort of music, but I don't think my ears could cope with more than a couple of songs before I would have to leave. A wacky girl and very very :001_th_smiles48: :001_th_smiles48: .
allardjd 1,853
There's no accounting for people's taste in entertainment and it's largely harmless until they begin to look to the celebrities as authorities on politics, religion, social issues, science, the environment, etc. That's when it gets scary. That's what I found so frightening about Donald Trump's toying with the idea of running for president - not so much him per se, but the thought of which rich celebrities might follow him down that road. I'm glad he came to his senses. This is a country that elected Sonny Bono to the House and Al Franken to the Senate, so it's not as if it can't happen. Reagan at least served as governor for a while before he ran for president. John

stu7708 244
That burger is just scary. Had I eaten it I'm sure I would have needed someone to roll me out of there afterwards Oh, and I'd prefer Radio :001_th_smiles48: :001_th_smiles48: over the lady one any day of the week.
