mutley 4,497
Good link Andrew, don't forget that FSX has moved on to SP2 after that post as defined here Cheers, Joe
ddavid 149
When I was reviewing Treescapes, I used the W7 Resource Manager (accessed via the Task Manager) to show multi core activity (I have an Intel Quad processor). I was quite surprised to see ALL 4 Cores being 100% utilised (normally, it's just the first cpu core), particularly over heavily wooded areas at maxed out Autogen Density. The same results were apparent when reviewing Shawbury Fields, again at Extremely Dense Autogen. So, FSX clearly does utilise all 4 cores, in my case, when it needs to... On the SLI front, it was interesting to see Phil Taylor's comments as I'd always thought FS9/FSX to be unaffected by SLI or Cross-Fire connected GPU's. Now I know better! Cheers - Dai.
