allardjd 1,853
Can it be true? There are serious rumors and some photos floating around suggesting that our moderator, Aircraft Aviation, a.k.a. Jack, is rubbing elbows with the crew at Just Flight Towers, in beautiful downtown Huntingdon, wherever that might be. (It's reported to be a wide spot in the road between Little Stuckeley and Bar Hill, close by Brampton and Godmanchester.) Jack is spending some quality time with them on a Work Experience assignment, which is, I guess, a kind of internship intended to give wayward youths a glimpse of the working world. This is done in an attempt to frighten them into staying in school as long as humanly possible. Congratulations are in order for Jack securing this prestigious assignment that is such a good fit for the talents he demonstrates here. The game is afoot, as Conan Doyle would have said through the mouth of his famous sleuth. It's been reported that Jack has already gutted two joysticks and a yoke for as yet unexplained purposes at JF, claiming that Richard told him he could - Richard denies it, of course. Alex Ford's keyboard has mysteriously gone missing as well. The plastic shell and loose keys were found later in the trash, with the circuit board and cable missing. Hmmm. Probably nothing to do with Jack. JF employees are now taking their peripherals home with them at night and locking them in their cars during lunch time, just to be safe. Woe to those with electronic door locks - putty in Jack's hands. To date none of the phone hardware has been tampered with, but it's early in the game. One wonders who's learning what from who. One office entrepeneur is giving 8:5 odds that Martyn will begin letting his hair grow. Congratulations, Jack. Keep them on their toes. John

rob16584 42
We expect a full report when you are done Jack - hope they didn't put you in the marketing dept, that's what seems to happen at our place!
ddavid 149
I used to live about 5 miles from Huntingdon - nice area, although it smells of brussel sprouts all through the winter! Enjoy your work experience, Jack! :thumb: Cheers - Dai.
Aircraft Aviation 2
[Also posted at JF] Alas, the rumours are true!!! I had a fantastic week at JF; certainly worth the 4 hour journey as most of the placements in my area were utter rubbish (ie boring, uninteresting stuff). I must say that I looked forward to being there every day; not only because of the side-splitting exchanges between Martyn and Phil, but also because I got a chance to work "behind the scenes" at JF and get into some real software/support work. I hope that I proved myself useful during the course of the week, and I'd once again like to say thanks to JF for an outstanding experience! I'll just post a few snaps from the week: The Crew Martyn's posh setup: Tennis! Putting the GF autopilot panel and Iris A-10 through their paces... Once again, thanks for a magnificent week and I hope I can visit again in the future! Regards, Jack :icon_thumbup:
allardjd 1,853
Looks like a fun time, Jack. If they paid Martyn a little more perhaps he could afford some shoes to cover those hideous socks. John
Aircraft Aviation 2
HAHA LOL John at your electionic adventure in post #1. Of course, it's all lies... :th_smiles73: :th_smiles73: :th_smiles73:

allardjd 1,853
I just noticed in the first photo (the MH shirt distracted me from it at first glance) that you've inadvertently gone to work with your pajama bottoms still on. That must have been embarassing. It appears that the dress code at JF is somewhere south of "Business Casual". John

mike H 456
Looks like he had just come back from holiday Looking at the pics I think Jack was on Holiday in Heaven that week. Nice one Jack and do not worry too much about what has been said about your shorts at least they match your monitor and chair. More than can be said about Martyn's socks. Like your story John. :icon_thumbup: PS. I think I will have to cancel my summer hols this year and spend it at JF Towers. Is there room to land my Bell 206?
