Lukemeister 6
Hi all, I have finally decided to jump over to FSX after watching a video of the 737NGX. I simply can't sit in the past any longer. I want to use FSX to pretend to be a Ryanair pilot. I have got Ultimate Terrain Europe and Ground Enviroment X. I have also downloaded SP1 & 2. I have looked at traffic packages and am undecided between UT2 or Traffic X. So can anyone think of "must have" add ons for commercial 737 flying? What is the best traffic package? Finally, what do people think of the A2A training videos? I have never learnt the 737 so will be buying their instructional videos to help me along. Thanks, Luke.
SEATAC 400
I think Just Flight's Traffic X is good. But I have not tried any others. And if they make it, I would definitely get the FS2crew voice commander. Fantastic product! I know they make it for the PMDG 737! not sure about the NGX though. Welcome to the world of FSX. Lukemeister 6
Thanks SEATAC, UT2 is appealing to me due to the higher quality of AI plane over Traffic X. Although Traffic X has loads of GA and military AI. If UT2 had this, it would swing it for me. I'm wondering which one is the easiest for creating new flight routes for AI. Namely the new easyJet routes out of Southend.
SEATAC 400
Looks fairly easy to me.
Wyatt 0
Does FS2Crew work with smaller aircraft, like the King Air or Cessna 206?
allardjd 1,853
When dabbling in FSX I bought Traffic X because I was very happy with Traffic 2005 on FS9. It turns out that when creating your own flight plans it TX, you cannot specify altitude. The program decides. What were they thinking? John
stu7708 244
Regarding traffic I prefer UT2 over Traffic X, it feels like it's less resource hungry, and the lack of military traffic is not such a big problem for me. But if I did have to do a full reinstall in the future I would probably install TrafficX too since it adds enhancments to quite a few default airports. FS2Crew is something I probably will get once it's released for the NGX. As for Wyatts question. No. Every FS2Crew release is specifically developed for one airplane-developer combination. I.E the FS2Crew addon for the iFly 737 NG will not work with the PMDG 737 NGX or vice versa. At the moment I think it's only for Airliners, but take a look at their homepage to verify this. There's a similar product called FDC Live cockpit, avilable from Aerosoft and probaly elsewhere too, that alows for the user to build custom checklists that works with most planes. But I never got it to work proper... As for other add-ons I would get some sort of flight planner with good IFR support. I use FS commander, but there's plenty out there to pick from. stu7708 244
Just realised I missed one crucial add-on for better realism. Radar Contact for much improved ATC services, such as the ability to fly SIDs and STARS....... but I must say I'm a bit surprised John didn't mention it already, isn't that what you usually suggest at first go on these kind of questions..
