stu7708 244
Hi Joe... Just to let you know. The menus look abit strange on IE8. If I hold the mouse over a menu item the submenu comes up way below and far to the right. The first line in the submenu is at the same height on the page as the "Reply to this topic" button on the far right... I'll try to post a screenshot for you if it's not visible on your side... And I can also see parts in the Staff menu that I don't have access to.. "Mods forum" in my case. Other than that it looks good.. it feels much cleaner than the previous template. stu7708 244
Thanks for the tip.. and the menu issue was easily solved by clicking the "compatibility" feature in IE.... now, why didn't I think before I posted this.. must need some more coffee
hurricanemk1c 195
I thought 'Cor - what's happened here!' I like it!

allardjd 1,853
It must be a setting. I'm using IE8 (on XP) and it looks like this...
stu7708 244
It must be a setting..... Don't know what it was, it looks like it does for you on my screen too now... Could be as easy as a hard refresh that solved the issue, or Joe found some setting that fixed it..
ddavid 149
Oh Dear - looks like my Tumbling Ted is for the chop. I get this: Wotcha fink, Boss?!? :th_smiles73: Hwyl - Dai.:I've.lost.my.teddy.gif:
ddavid 149
Sorry, more from me... When I Preview or Edit a Post, I lose the HTML (i.e., no etc), like this: Not sure what happens if your HTML syntax is incorrect. How do I get the HTML back, please? Seems that the Post Editor strips out ALL HTML code (including colons around Smiley identifiers. And it's nearly impossible to format... This is just the start of a rant!! Cheers - Dai. :getting.worried.smiley:
mutley 4,498
Hello Dai, As I mentioned above, the forum now uses the same image for the photo and image. Unfortunately, with animated GIFs, unless the image placeholder size is the same or larger then the GIF size then it doesn't animate. I increased the size of the image in the forum posts but can't do anything about the photos. You could always put it in your signature and change your avatar to your mug shot or something else? Sorry
ddavid 149
The HTML thing is the biggie, I'm afraid - or is it just me? (Getting warmer! - Ed) Cheers - Dai.
mutley 4,498
In the full post reply window there is a switch in the top left corner that changes it to a raw editor?
mutley 4,498
The next stage of our improvement program is forum merging/consolidation. We will be moving some of the forums into more logical positions and in some cases, Review Announcements for example can be seen as a sub-forum of the Mutleys Hangar News and Announcements section. I'm sure will will all get used to it soon (Dai ) Cheers, Joe
dodgy-alan 1,587
I,m not sure about the new look i,ll have to admit. It seems more complicated to do a few things on and editing posts is a real pain in the arse ! On the old system if you wanted to change something, pressing the edit button bought up a script only box at the bottom with the url that could be easily deleted. Now you appear to have to deleted the pic itself which doesnt always seem to work. Also i find the screen seems to jump around a fair bit when doing this. It may be me but I prefer the old layout. (I love being an old carmudgeon!!) I daresay eventually I,ll get used to it but I,m of the school, "If it aint broke ,don't fix it!!"
mutley 4,498
Thanks for the feedback Alan, I am looking into the url and editing thing.
hurricanemk1c 195
@Dai - once you're in the actual topic, the 'tumbling ted' works fine. I don't want the ted to go!!!!! Personally, the only thing 'wrong' so to speak is that to see if anyone is in Live Chat, you have to scroll to the bottom of the forum main-page, whilst something on the header would be easier, so to speak
mutley 4,498
Noted Kieran (Hasn't it always been like that?) EDIT: It could well be caused by our bespoke menu system.
hurricanemk1c 195
When it was introduced, it did show - it could be due to the menu It is a little pain, but having such good infomation and a great service, #I can live with it
allardjd 1,853
I think there was a little number in the top line menu - it would appear if someone was in the chat room. John
allardjd 1,853
I'm still having a little problem when clicking on the number of downloads in the DC. If I do it with the top item on each page the pop-up displays correctly. On all the lower ones, the pop-up appears briefly and immediately goes away. On the grand scale of things, this should be WAY down on your list of priorities. John
mutley 4,498
Hi John, I have replicated that problem with various browsers, I will prepare and submit a fault report to the developers.
