ddavid 149
Well, now I know about spins! Seriously, though, a comprehensive Review - Thanks, Tim. Now I know why GA add-ons concentrate on VC's - as you say, it's almost like the real thing - with the exception of fiddly knobs... Cheers - Dai.
Tim_A 997
The big problem with knobs... is that in a VC there is nothing actually to grab hold of. In a real plane you can grab the knob, and it takes a fair amount of bouncing around for you to lose grip on it. But in a VC with 'click spots', and especially the tiny ones you often find, there's no sense of engagement, and even in normal straight & level, it can easily slide out of your (virtual) hand. That's why I regard RealAir, and to a lesser extent Aerosoft (I have problems with requiring the scroll wheel to change values, since if I'm simming on my laptop, I don't have a scroll wheel...) as being superior control systems, since you are locked to the knob until you let go of the mouse. In my opinion, the flat click spot belongs to the 2D cockpit, for which it is eminently suited, and not to 3D VCs.
stu7708 244
Great review Tim. I've been looking for a good model GA with a good glass panel for a while (personally I tend to prefer those over steam guages for some reason), so this one is going on to my "To get-list".
