rob16584 42
Initially I thought it was the F117-A, but the wing angle is all wrong

Andrew Godden 943
Northrop Grumman X-47B. Flight testing being performed from the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush, CVN-77. Cheers Andrew
brett 2,315
So, not a guess then Andrew?
Andrew Godden 943
Oh, I don't know Brett, I could be wrong - what! Edit: But it is definitely the USS George H. W. Bush - at least I will get that right. Cheers Andrew
allardjd 1,853
Andrew is usually a VERY GOOD guesser. John

dodgy-alan 1,587
Would that thing be the Boeing X45A?
hurricanemk1c 195
If that was a guess Andrew, I'd hate to see something you really know!! Yep, Northrop-Grumman X-47B on the USS George H. W. Bush. Perfect. But, who can tell me what carrier-based drones were used in the Korean War?
Andrew Godden 943
That would be the Grumman F6F 'Hellcat', flying from USS Boxer and radio controlled from an escorting Douglas A-1 'Skyraider'.
hurricanemk1c 195
OK - I give up! Correct yet again Andrew!
dodgy-alan 1,587
Good Guess Andrew. I wasnt sure whether to opt for the X-45 or X-47, I chose wrong LOL
Andrew Godden 943
Good Guess Andrew. I wasnt sure whether to opt for the X-45 or X-47, I chose wrong LOL Alan, UAVs and fictional aircraft aren't normally my area, but I stuck at this one. The wingtip profile didn't fit the X-45 and it was obviously the USS George H. W. Bush. Cheers Andrew
Andrew Godden 943
OK - I give up! Correct yet again Andrew! Kieran, Don't give up. I have had years of a depraved and deprived life to get to this. Maybe it could be something you could look forward to. Cheers Andrew
allardjd 1,853
I think Kieran would come into his own with a "Guess the Locomotive" thread. Show him one of the screw heads holding the inspection cover for the air brake servo and he could tell you make, model, serial number and the middle name of the engineer's mistress. But I guess there's no point stoking an argument and getting all steamed up about it. After all, I don't want to burst a boiler. Maybe you could whistle me another tune! But please don't misinterpret what I'm saying as I'm not suggesting a tender moment and, least of all, a coupling.Having said all that, I think this thread has been derailed and at this junction maybe it's time to change the points and get it back on track, unless you want to signal something else.
