Sabre 28
"SAD Update" Well the sorry tale continues. All SAD business remains suspended and staff are on extended leave. The Police investigations into the computer systems failures at Corpoarte HQ, Skagit Regional have not found any signs of foul play. It would appear alll birds have flown the nest and the Clowns have teamed up with the elephants and ran away with the Circus. Despite attempts to get the SAD business systems up and running theer are still no signs of the doors re-opening any time soon. Extensive changes have been made to PC hardware and the system software has been fully re-installed alas the key area of graphical display still remains a problem and discussions are ongoing with the supplier of the hardware. The SAD CEO revealed that so far discussion had proved fruitless and the Company may yet incur further expense before the matter is resolved. Rumours that the CEO is now armed with a machinegun and is enroute to a certian "E" Supplier are as yet unconfirmed
brett 2,315
Another SAD tale. Guns never solve anything, a good beatdown on the other hand..........
brett 2,315
I dunno, a well oiled (or not) MG might prove better than a '45 for certain purposes . . . You talking about running the guy over or is that a type of gun?
Sabre 28
"SAD Rises like a phoenix from the ashes" After the well documented sorry tale comes the good news story. SAD is alive and kicking picking itself up from the "PC ashes" to open its doors and get down to business once again. The staff are fully refreshed from the impromptu emergency leave and are already back in the skies above the Pacific North West. The Police investigations into the computer systems failures at Corporate HQ, Skagit Regional proved fruitless and suggestions that retired film stars/politicians were observed in the area also lead to a "dead end". Suggestions of RCMP involvement also proved unfounded when it was discovered they were all holidaying in Hawaii It seems that SAD customers have remained loyal and local competitors have been respectful of long standing customers wishes to return to SAD. SAD extended their thanks to the near neighbours for filling the gap during SAD's down time. There has been one casualty of the whole affair. The SAD CEO announced the closure of the CYPK Pitt Meadows base, citing unhealthy interference from Canadian authorities. He refused to comment further and would not be drawn on what the press are calling the "Clowngate Affair". In a more positive vein the CEO announced that SAD had opened a new base in western Wyoming at Jackson Hole (KJAC) and would be operating its newly acquired DC3 aircraft in the region. Further good news arrived when young Owen Steele was promoted to Senior Captain after his first day back at work for over three weeks. SAD relesased pictures from KJAC after the CEO and his accountant flew out in the C46 Commando to seal the deal. Leaving KJAC - contract signed

brett 2,315
New base looks great and I'm glad to hear the company is up and running again at full rpm's . Just happened that tonight I made an a emergency landing at Darrington and the folks around there told me you were over at the new base. Sorry I missed ya, next time. The C-46 is a great chubby old bird and if you take care of them they will return the favour. I would quess though that they had a different idea in those days about what the word streamlined meant. jaydor 345
Glad your back, I been missing all the banter from AH. So I hope I can now start to wet my thingymajigs with laughter again.. :) Let the stories begin:
Sabre 28
"SAD back on track" Whilst all around the Hauling world seemingly partied the nights away all the SAD Crew were hard at work moving bases and establishing new routes around the Central Rocky Mountains. The closure of the CYPK base had the inevitable hit on business reputation but the move back south of the border away from the "Clowns" was still deemed worth it and SAD firmly believe they will recoup a lot of revenue now they are out of the clutches of the RCMP Clowns Henchmen. The SAD business has now been split into Eastern and Central Hubs. The Central Hub is being run by the CEO's daughter supported by another un-named family member. The Hub is operating a Cargomaster for all STOL deliveries into the mountains with the two older aircraft dealing with everything on strips over 1000 metres; the large freight is being hauled with the C 46 Commando and medium freight is catered for with the DC 3. All these aircraft are operating from KJAC - Jackson Hole. The Eastern Hub is being looked after by the CEO's son based at KBVS Skagit Regional. Alex and his Cargomaster is supported by young Owen Steele who has been allocated a permanent slot in the other Cargomaster and Jonathan Burns who's utilising the DC 3 for the larger jobs in the area. The CEO is splitting his time equally between the two hubs as well as maintaining his connection with his home town field at Darrington 1S2 where the original SAD aircraft the 182RG is still based. The 182 is soon to have a fresh coat of paint as soon as Mrs SAD gives Mr SAD some more time off domestic duties. The SAD garden is still looking very rosie though with over £4M in the bank. In fact things have apparently improved so much that it is rumoured that the next party could see the whole SAD Clan decsend on the unsuspecting soles of the hauling world. brett 2,315
Glad to hear that things are going so well at the SAD camp It's a regular family affair there For a change it's a good thing to be in the "Hole"

Sabre 28
"Black day at SAD" As with all things in the world of hauling change is inevitable. Whilst all in the garden had seemed rosie on the surface it appears that SAD have been hiding a number of "incidents" from the public eye. It appears that one of their pilots - Jonathan Burns is a more than a little accident prone. Matters have come to a head after the third £30K plus accident in 8 days. After the latest incident the company Cargomaster - S3DER has been blacklisted by the "More or Less Than Insurance Company". The aircraft which has suffered significant damage recently can no longer be insured. In an announcement the SAD CEO said "It is with deep regret that SAD wish to announce the dismissal of one of their pilots but the SAD reputation for quality and service could not be allowed to suffer for the actions of one individual - Jonathan Burns has been removed from the company Pilot Roster with immediate effect." It is also reported today in the Darrington Daily Bugle that an administrator from the SAD Corporate HQ at Skagit has also been dismissed in connection with the incident apparently for not monitoring the number of claims. Apparently shouts of "Scapegoat" were heard by passengers leaving KBVS on scheduled flights earlier today. The SAD CEO refused to comment on the Scapegoat Scandal and was keen to deflect reporters onto aircraft related matters when he announced the procurement of a DH 2 Beaver Amphibian which is to be based at KBVS to service the smaller cargo market and add more flexibility to the SAD portfolio. This purchase fuels rumours that SAD may be pulling out of the larger freight market and looking for the smaller niche cargo's available within the region. This was dismissed however by Mr SAD when he announced he'd been looking at a further C 46 Commando for the Skagit base. The waters were made muddy when a source revealed that the SAD clan had been seen at Concrete Municipal testing a Cessna 185 Tundra. The latest revelation would appear out of context with current SAD operations pouring futher oil on the possible expansion fires!

brett 2,315
Ouch, I feel your pain. My new pilot, Sophia, has made some expensive mistakes in her first week but I am willing to give her a bit of leeway. That generosity only goes so far and if she busts up todays load of China she will be sitting on the bench with Jonathan. You did the right thing on cleaning house though, we are not here to lose money. Good luck with the new 'phibian, I hope there is enough water jobs to make it worthwhile. Sabre 28
This may set a record for the oldest bumped topic at Mutley's Hangar "SAD Second Coming" A bit like events at my local Football Club there has been a "second coming"! The dust has been shaken from the trusty fleet and the family have been sent back to work. The son has been sent up from 1S2 Darrington to deliver some urgent Courier Documents in the Beaver DHC-2 while the daughter is hard at work further south moving a bunch of Computers from Kemmerer to KJAC Jackson Hole. Meanwhile the Brother is off making a reputation for himself - seems he's become a bit of a "Hauling Legend" and he seems intent on dining out on his new found fame. I'll need to keep an eye on him as he's spending a lot of time down at KBVS Burlington shifting Cosmetics to a regular customer (lady friend). I've managed to get a bit of peace by shipping the wife off down to Jackson Hole to help out the daughter. She likes a challenge so I've given her the old DC3 just so she doesn't get back in a hurry!! The only non-family member of SAD Owen Steele has remained loyal to the Comapny through the darkness and is operating the C-46A Commando. SAD has managed to maintain its bases at its home town of Darrington as well as their larger premises at Skagit Regional and Jackson Hole. Despite the down turn in business over recent years SAD has attained a Net Worth of over £10M with £3M in the bank and with a reputation increasing over the 60% mark the future is looking a little brighter. As CEO of Sabre Air Deliveries I'm taking things a little easier and have purchased a little Cessna 182 for some of the more local smaller jobs. Managed a few snapshots of the trip from 1S2 Darrington to KBFI Boeing Field. Heading West from Darrington along the valley Looking back towards Blue Mountain Heading south towards Seattle from Paine Everett VOR Beautiful day west Beautiful day east Taxi to parking at KBFI Boeing Field
brett 2,315
Glad to see SAD up and running again and that the family didn't flounder while you were off fighting in the war. Thanks for the ride along, looked like a nice day for flying and taking pictures. A nice little cruise in the C182 I see, I would fly the job for free. As far as an old post, I think I remember answering one from 2010 once.
