God save OSE Cargo Australia

Recommended Posts

This has been my first company since I got AH on my PC, and has been founded on 2011/03/16 in Career mode... one year almost.

After an initial phase full of success and achievements, I started with loans to take some liners. After a few days, John's Airhaulic came to my eyes...

Next, some family problems got me away from the PC, and OSE Cargo Australia has fallen into a sea of debts and the reputation a few inches above the ground.

So, now I have the same problems of Mario Monti, Italy Prime Minister! I have to take my poor company back to its splendor :)

I have sold all the heavies, and now I have two A/Cs: a C185F and a Quest Kodiak.

Did a few successful flights last week, so to raise reputation again.

As of today, networth is -28.324.216 (!!!!) and reputation is 58. Finance is finally in the positive numbers, $ 1.151.202, but i have some millions to give back to the bank. Anyway, I should be able now to face the monthly payments.

In the next few days, two of my three minions will do a dirty job going back and forth: they should bring some fresh air to my bank.

I should lease an aircraft to further increase my reputation, I will go for a 210.

Fingers crossed.

Good luck bringing the company back to speed. I have a feeling you will have more luck than the PM, in this economy.

This also brings up a question I have concerning AH. If it sits idle for awhile, do you have a choice of picking up where you left off when last flown/played or does AH just keep running along till the company goes broke?

AFAIK, my AH has been idle for six months and subtracted 12 points from reputation.

Just don't close a base! or it'll have another 2 points off of you :yikes: it did that to me at the weekend :gaah: .

Close to RW, always getting financally punished somewhere for something. If you don't laugh, you would cry, he he. Even in a fun sim you can't catch a break. :stars:

If it makes you feel any better, remember you need to spend money to make money. Expansion isn't cheap but maybe after some hard work and dedication there will be bucket loads of cash in your future. :)

Brief update.

It seems that we are up and running again.

The minions are working hard, so am I.

Cash is flowing again, reputation is rising, fleet is growing.

We now have another Quest Kodiak and a brand new T210 Centurion.

Love the Kodiak because of its STOL performance, so you can get anywhere pretty fast. I'm thinking about a PC-12 in the future, which hase the same STOL ability.

We still have to pay about $30M of loans, but monthly expenses are way below income.

See you soon!

Update.

Things are getting better and better. Cash flow is constantly in the positive side, and reputation is growing again.

The PC-12 and the two Kodiaks have got a first hand of paint, will post a picture asap. PC12 and KODI have big fuel tanks, so I'm able to carry big loads with 30-35% fuel.

Networth is still very low (-27.414.912) , as I have to pay all the previous loans, but i'm trying to reduce the amount each time I have enough cash.

Thinking about a DC-3 to lease...

Sounds like things are looking up.

I just ordered AH(waiting somewhat patiently) and although I am looking forward to it, the program sounds like a real uphill battle to get a company to not only make money but get and keep a good rep. Is it best to keep it small and just rely on myself as a pilot or to always keep building it up adding other pilots and aircraft?

Update

I've been promoted to Training Captain, so I gave a party in my main base in Cessnock with all my minions. One slice of bread, a bit of butter and a full glass of water each. Hip hip hoorray!

Next, everyone back to work!

Sounds like things are looking up.

Ciao Brett,

that's up to you.

It's a lot of fun anyway, either you want to simply fly your Cessna from A to B, either you want to compete with DHL.

Personally, I tend to use as many minions, aircrafts and bases as I can, but that's not a precise marketing strategy, simply I like to change aircraft, from the small Cub to the 747, and fly on all my Orbx sceneries.

This is the added value of this software, it fits like a glove your flying attitudes.

Have fun.

Well done on your promotion - seems your hard work to rebuild your company is starting to pay off - good job :thum:

@Brett it's really up to you as mentioned above AH fits how you want it to. The benefit of having at least one AI pilot is you can have your aircraft working for you earning cash while you aren't able to fly. It won't do anything for your reputation as this will only increase when you fly personally. Mind AI pilots can cause rep to go down if they miss a delivery but with proper planning that shouldn't happen. Remember to set up a post of your own so you can update us with progress when you get started.

I can see I am going to have trouble right off the bat, I would have given my workers two slices of bread with peanut butter. I really need to start thinking "Overhead".

News from the paintshop.

In their spare time, my minions are busy in the paintshop.

As an incentive for this, I have decided to give them a full bottle of water each week.

Here are two shots, the PC-12 AC-001 and the DC-3 AC-004.

The DC-3 is still half painted, but it will be completed in a few days.

I will publish some images of the two Kodiaks AC-002 and AC-003 asap.

Update (a bit of revolution)

A.C.A. CEO, Mr. Manzo, has been in his office the whole day. At night, the door was still closed, and puffs of smoke came from his cigar through the slightly opened window.

"This way, I will be able to pay all the loans in two years, if everything goes well. I have to change something to settle all the amount and find some revenues..."

Somebody knocked at the door. Sarah Watson, Training Pilot at A.C.A. wanted to help her friend and chief.

"Chief, have you been in your office all day long to look at that?"

Mr. Manzo pointed his finger on an announcement on the local newspaper: "Quantas Boeing 767-200 VH-EAM for rent"

"You have to be crazy, we have over $26M to give to the bank!"

"The bank will approve another $10M loan, the Bank Director is a nice guy"

"I think you need to sleep. Now I have to go, I have some frozen prawns to take to Canberra, and my Kodiak is ready to go."

Mr. Manzo did not even hear the last words od Sarah. His mind was trying to look forward to what could happen in the future with a 762 in his fleet, and his gambler mind (he was a great poker player in the past) made everything appear as an "all-in" on the green table.

"I will take my decision tomorrow", and went to bed.

(to be continued)

The sun was shining bright and hot in Cessnock.

"Sarah, you shouldn't stay here in bikini."

"Come on, boss, it's a sunny day and I have no jobs!"

"You do have one!"

Mr. Manzo gave Sarah the flight dispatch. Sarah couldn't believe her eyes. A 767-200 was waiting for her at Alice Springs, almost fully loaded and ready for an intercontinental flight to China.

"You did it, you crazy boy!"

"Hurry and, for God's sake, please wear your uniform".

Update

A.C.A. has started shipping abroad again, getting consistent remuneration.

The reputation is rising so high (over the 70s), that the bank director did not hesitate to give more money to the company. So we now have a C-130 and a MD-11 in our fleet.

Too many debts? I'm sure that's the way real companies do!

Sarah Watson refuses to fly the big irons, she still prefers the good ol' Kodiak. She's so sentimental. So, Captain Emily Savory is doing the dirty job with the 767.

Sarah still doesn't know the Kodiak will be sold soon, I have to find the right way to tell her.

Official Announcement

OSE Cargo Australia is looking for a nice motto to identify the company.

You know, CEO is Italian and his knowledge of english language is pretty limited.

Please provide here your suggestions. The best one will be awarded with 2.500 lbs of frozen prawns (as Emily has not been able to deliver them in time).

Thank you!

Operations starting again after Easter holidays

After more than a week of rest, the company will be starting again to deliver packages all around the world. Still haven't got back to the office, so I don't know what situation I will find...

Update

The tension was high.

Flight crew did not approve CEO's restructuration plan for the Company. Too ambitious, too many risks, a jump in the dark.

Also, two fired pilots in a week did not give much perspective to the future of Sarah and Emily.

More, the newly hired pilot (Mackenzie Hopkins, Training Captain) had been sarcastic to the two girls since the beginning of his experience.

"Ah, women!" he said, looking outside the window with a strange grin on his old face while polishing the golden eagle on his cap.

Emily and Sarah had just failed one job each. The two poor girls were waiting for the CEO to shout at them, and were preparing to recieve a letter with "many thanks for working with our Company."

Mr. Manzo was at his desk, looking at an enormous pile of sheets. Sure, job lists and handwritten calculations. His old trusty printer was hot.

"Emily!"

"Yes?" she said, with her eyes still pointed at the dusty floor.

"Put these on your uniform, take your C-130 and read carefully the flightplans. Go!"

She couldn't believe her eyes and ears. She was waiting to be fired, she had been promoted to Captain instead.

She only said "thank you, boss" and closed the door behind her.

"Sarah, you will fly the MD-11 from now on."

"What about my Kodiak?"

"Sold. Go!"

His last word did not give any space for any reply. She felt lucky not being fired as her friends, And she had a huge cargo to deliver to Singapore. "Time is money" she said with a sad smile, and went away.

"Mackenzie, stop playing with that stupid cap and run to your '67!"

The grin suddenly disappeared from his face, and slowly walked to the door.

"Boss, you would have been a great actor."

(Some days after)

He couldn't believe his eyes. The balance had become positive in a few days! More than 15 million $ and growing. And a list of jobs for almost 7 millions still to deliver in the next weekend.

"This way, I will be able to pay back all the loans in less than a month, then it will be party time."

He opened a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino and went outside, keeping his nose up to the sky.

"Life is beautiful", he thought, and a tear appeared on his face.

:)

Note to readers: sorry for "killing" english gramatic, I'm trying to do my best! :th_blush: Please feel free to point any mistake I've done. Thank you.
