daffers 0
Alright guys, first of all sorry for the other topic!(can be deleted) Couldn't make up my mind, Netherlands was too boring (easy landings and airports and Alaska looked like crap with a terrible FPS. Now i own Africa Airstrip Adventures which has great scenery, so i start my hauling business in Kenya.. Nanyuki Airstrip to be precise. I start on hard this time, selling my first C172 to buy a 182RG, big mistake because the 182 was too expensive, i ended up buying the 172 again leaving me with no money! At least i have a plane so it's time for business, first flight was a cargo flight to Nairobi and the first thing i noticed is that due to the high altitude, (base is at 7300ft) my little cessna had quite some problems climbing, speed and power where very low but i managed to get to Nairobi with the cargo intact an a Greaser at Winston Airport, a small flight of 4nm from Winston Airport to another Airport in Nairobi with some mail cargo after that was easy money, on my way back i picked up a sheep at HK47 to bring back to my base, landing at HK was a bumpy one but no problems there... Flying back to my base i had to do my first dirt landing, which went really well.... All in all it was a good day and i made some profit getting me back in the black digits (8k).. first priority is to replace the C172 with a more powerfull plane, since i have an enormous lack of power, with a max rate of climb of 200ft/m.. still i need to lots of flights to make money, which is hard because i was hired as a pilot for African Safari Airlines (career mission AAA). Doing at least 3-4 days of flying a week i must be steadily making money to buy my 182RG, which costs 230k.. i have close to nothing with a plane worth 100k... so i need either rep. or money to fly something better... hard work but i love it!!! here is a picture of my little cessna retourning at base Airfield after the first day of work! (alright i will not start over again guys, don't be worried, plz delete the old thread and forget about it! )
Menno 0
Scenery looks great! I had a similar problem back in the beginning of Air Cargo Hawaii with the 172S. It is very under powered. Luckily Hawaii doesn't have many high altitude runways, but I can certainly imagine your problems, especially fully loaded. Good luck on earning your way towards the 182. It will take some time, but when you can finally buy it, the feeling will be great! Maybe you should keep an eye on second hand airplanes. You might get lucky
brett 2,315
Quite the world traveler you are Daffers, not to mention leaving in your wake a bunch of unhappy landlords and aircraft salesmen. Glad you found a place to settle down, it can be hard to pick a place to start a business and the grass isn't always greener on the other side, as they say. As long as there are plenty of airports around within 100-150 miles you should get plenty of jobs to choose from. As far as getting a new ride, it will take many jobs before you can start upgrading, thats just working for a liv'in. I have found that leasing is the best way to go for an upgrade and it dosen't take long to accumulate enough green for that purpose. Adjust your job options for shorter flights and % of cargo so you can take on more jobs per flight is helpful when starting out. Have fun and stay cool in your new digs(shade is limited I hear) Are you now called Africa Airstrip Adventures or still Danser Air Cargo as per your sig?Edit:Never mind, I got it. daffers 0
Same name, it is possible to lease from 50% rep and up right ?? only downside is that African Air Strip adventures has airfields but they are not listed in the game as airfields, apart from my base and 1 other.. this means Air Hauler will not recognize them so i c myself flying to Nairobi most of the time which is about 90nm.. second day of work will begin now, it is hard to get this small plane in the air with a big load,, but i like a challenge... well second day of flying, will let you guys know

This is probably because you haven't imported the new scenery in Air Hauler yet! You can do this by going to 'options' in Air Hauler and pressing 'Import Scenery'. It will take several minutes but after that Air Hauler should recognize all your airports (and heliports if available) Good luck!
Sabre 28
Good luck Daffers, pleased you have eventually settled on a home base (well at least for the minute ) Africa will certainly pose different problems than us PNW flyers face, it does look nice though. I'm not sure how you couldn't get the 182 from the start in Career mode as that's how I started. The only thing is you have to get the overdraft from the bank and maybe you didn't want the debt. Anyway you are off and running now. Keep us updated on how you get on. Good luck
