petermcleland 48
A while ago I published a Keynote file "208 Squadron in Kenya for the iPad"...However, that needed an iPad and an App called Keynote to run. Here is a PDF version that can be viewed on a PC and also on an iPad in the built in iBooks app...It has over 170 pictures (A few more than my original PowerPoint presentation) and the download is 42 mbs:- http://www.petermcleland.com/dl/208_Squadron_in_Kenya_PDF.zip I hope some people will be entertained by it...There are no transition effects or music but the picture quality is good

petermcleland 48
I'm on iPad now and keynote looks to cost £6.99 so will download when on PC soon :-) Well you don't need Keynote to see that PDF file, you can load any PDF file into the iBook app. If you do buy Keynote then I have a different download for you which gives my Keynote presentation of the same file...You then get all the transition effects and it will run as a slide show. This is the download for iPad + Keynote:- http://www.petermcle...or_the_iPad.zip

brett 2,315
There were some cool looking pic's in there Peter, thanks for sharing. Love the 60's style decor, clothes and cars. You boozers pilot's sure looked like you had a great time. Must have been pretty neat cruising along in them jets over that countryside. It really is a beautiful place, the buildings and huts had a quaint look to them. I'm sure it has changed much since that time. Have you ever thought of going back? BTW Glad you ditched the mustache. hurricanemk1c 195
Some excellent photos in there Peter - well worth a look!
petermcleland 48
Joe...I don't unzip in iPad...I just unzip the download in my PC into my documents and then use iTunes to put the PDF file into the Library...Synching with iPad will then put the PDF file into the PDF section of iBook app (just sideswipe the Bookshelves from right to left and that puts you into Bookshelves for PDF files...very handy for the various PDF Manuals that you get in FlightSim. If you go the Keynote route (an excellent App) then my download, mentioned above, has instruction files in it to tell you exactly how to import the Keynote file from your PC My Documents into iTunes and then from there into your connected iPad. mutley 4,498
Well, I viewed all the shots, what a wonderful piece of memorabilia, you must have been very excited to have got those slides converted. I enjoyed the commentary every bit as much as the shots. You all looked to be great friends as well as colleagues and I am not surprised you couldn't remember every event of over 50 years ago. Thanks for sharing Peter
petermcleland 48
Thank you very much Joe, for taking the time to look at it all...Not too many people will do that! And thank you for your kind remarks. BTW I found a new App for the iPad today and it is called "Cabinet"...You can use it to read and annotate PDF files and it only cost £!.99...I have imported my PDF file and viewed it and it works well. Really the only difference between its presentation and the full Keynote one is that you can't run it as a slide show and there are no Transition effects between slides. mutley 4,498
Thanks for the update Peter, I might check it out although personally I have had no use for it thus far! I really enjoyed "flipping" the pages manually like a photo album so I could spend more time on some shots than others.
