hurricanemk1c 195
Hi all! Here are a few photos taken on my recent trip to the UK First up is a little level crossing in Leicestershire on Broome Lane. We were waiting for some Class 20's and new London Underground stock, but that was cancelled due to lack of new stock to haul! But, here's Arriva Cross Country's 170639 Then, spotted on the flightpath to East Midlands, EI-EVY And finally for Broome Lane, 170103 A quick trip to Brush Works at Loughborogh followed. Unexpectedly (but, thinking about it, should have been expected!) were the ex-Gatwick Express Class 460 'Darth Vaders', in the process of being re-made into more South West Trains Class 458's This is the luggage van - quite clear that these were designed for the Gat-Ex runs! The other end of what was a 8-car set - the other middle cars need less work Another luggage van The end of one sticking out between the ends of another Pointy 73209 of GBRf standing around. I've haulaged this one on the West Somerset Railway, between Bishops Lydeard and Blue Anchor, of all places! Finally, railway wise, going over to Toton and the useful bank for some spotting 67012 (Two-tone grey), 66097 (DBS Red) and 66221 all gather in the yard A group of Class 60's in the Compound. Out of a class of 100, I counted over 50 around Toton - scary! Some auto-ballasters, with the fuelling point behind 67012 and 66092 again The start of a very long line of Class 60's - this one is 60067 This one is 60080 Yet more stored Class 60's No. 60 86 A very weathered 60050 Class 60 Sunset The true oddball of the lot, 90018. It's a 25kv AC overhead electric loco - but where's the wires? 60007 'The Spirit of Tom Kendell' with Switched On To Safety additional decals And finally, 60040 And of course, two overflights Then, on the way back on the boat, we had a little helicopter join us Yep, EI-CXS of the Coustguard. Unfortunately, photos had to taken through wet, thick glass. Here's the pick of the best Hope you enjoyed this photo feature!! Kieran
Quickmarch 488
Thanks Kieren, Don't see many on the briny, but I love travelling on them. We'll be in Europe next fall, so looking forward to some serious train travel.. Cheers, March

saunder 3
Yes some interesting pictures there, I know Toton well. Should you have not been getting worried having a rescue helicopter hovering around the boat you were on.... John
hurricanemk1c 195
We were warned beforehand that it'd be coming - so not that much of a worry! And Dai, thought you'd like the copter shots!
