Your new airplane sounds like a steal at that price! Good eye Keep up the good work and try not to get too distracted by your 'surroundings'

14 jun 2012 A milestone and a mystery trip! We are celebrating today. Air Cargo Hawaii has completed its first 500 contracts without a single failure to deliver! I think a massive accomplishment for a small start up company in such a short time. To celebrate, I am taking my entire staff + Dillingham mechanic Dave (who practically works for me anyway) + Business consultant John, without whom I couldn't have started Air Cargo Hawaii at all. I am taking everybody, 11 including me, for some shrimp delicacies at Kamekona's On a more serious note. I am leaving on a business trip tomorrow and

Think I am going to let his dog do the delivery. Should be good Maybe I should start Dog Cargo Hawaii if I get anymore of these contracts

This must be some kind of a record. I just got offered the shortest job I have ever seen in Air Hauler! See for yourself below Took the job before anyone realized the madness

Thanks for the tip! I will look into the Islander. Do any of you happen to know the wingspan? I can park anything up to about 16 and maybe 18 meters. And what about other specs, cargo capacity, fuel burn rate? Thanks!

Just smile and take the money before the client comes to the same conclusion

Don't worry, the fence is electrified, high voltage... And the dog, it strikes when you most expect it! Yeah you read that right Because of high demand for the 208, I am considering buying a second one. Seems like a good choice. Anything bigger can't park at Dillingham anyway...

7 June 2012 Small update Business is booming! Really, its getting almost ridiculous how much demand there is for the new 208. Anthony has been working overtime a lot this week Ah well, he is getting payed good money to fly and stay awake, so I am not worried On a related note, the 800k bank loan has already been payed off in full! A 135k contract for some 'undisclosed' fragile equipment helped a long way in getting there In the mean time the assistant for the office has been hired, so the paperwork is being taken care off by two people now. I hired yet another pilot today, a first offi

Great to hear SAD is up and running again!

6/4/2012 Christmas at Air Cargo Hawaii ! Hi all, this is going to be a big update, so bear with me Let's start with the big news! As announced previously, a rather large new package has arrived from Cessna. Jim already guessed it was going to be a Cessna 208B. It is indeed a logical evolution for the company... First off, some info on the 208. Originally developed in the '80's the as the 208A Caravan, the 208A Cargomaster, all cargo version was developed with FedEx to function as a feeder plane for their mail and parcel services. Cessna took the design a bit further and stretched it by 1

There seems to be a lot of that going around these days. Sabotage I mean Maybe its time to get me a watchdog before it strikes me

Say what? I was't paying attention. I am still suffering from a hangover... I didn't make it, cause the authorities refused to let me enter the country with a plane load full off booze. They frown upon that apparently... So I was forced to make a choice, let the authorities confiscate the booze and continue or stay behind and get rid of the booze myself. I thought a party without booze is not a party anyways, so I decided to recruit some locals and 'get rid' of it myself Sorry about that, I will be present next time. I will bring pretzels then Mr Manzo, a very well deserved cover on Th

I am sad to hear about the problems you are having Mike. Sometimes one just has a streak of bad luck. I happens unfortunately. Just remember that it can only get better after this I would suggest running FSX with only the bare minimum of addons installed (scenery, weather etc.) and sliders at some low setting. Just to make sure it is not some computer or graphics overload that causes you problems. And of course, as other before me have suggested, make sure you are running the most current versions of all installed software. Don't give up, we will sure miss your great stories around here...

5/29/2012 The JetRanger I promised you some more information on my new helicopter. As it was kind of a impulsive buy I didn't have time then to explain further, but I have some time now, so here we go. The helicopter I bought from a local tour operator is on of the last JetRangers made in 2010 (It has since been replaced by the Bell 407). To be precise, it is a Bell 206B-3 JetRanger. It has an Allison 250-C20J turboshaft engine which produces 420 shaft hp and gives the helicopter a top speed of 130 knots (115 cruise) and a range of 374 nm. This is more than enough for the jobs around Hawai

Thanks for the nice words! Much appreciated Jim, am I that predictable?! My temp helo pilot was just complaining about his working hours and that he could not possibly fly in the dark... I told him to stop complaining and went to the local surplus store and bought him a tray of energy drink and a pair of Russian military surplus night vision goggles Don't think he's gonna work out. I have to find myself a real helo pilot! Signing off for today. Got a wedding party to go to

Sorry 'bout that. Got pulled over in my Cessna by a overenthusiastic copper wanting me to take a breathalyzer test.... Seems all the bottles and cans in the back made him kind of suspicious. I really don't have a clue what he was talking about

My best wishes to Jim from me as well! Hope you are home soon Like your new signature picture of the 737 in your posts btw

5/25/2012 Going vertical! Bought myself a Bell 206B JetRanger today It was a complete impulse buy, but the offer was too good to be true. Got it second hand from a local tour operator at a great discount. They had it mothballed recently due to smaller numbers of tourists. The reason for buying a helicopter was that I was receiving increasingly many requests for contracts to remote private and public heliports not accessible by fixed wing airplanes. I was losing out on a lot of money by not being able to accept them... I got it working right away with a temporary helicopter pilot I got on

New motherboard etc arrived yesterday so should be finished connecting it up tonight at some point, then I have to pray that Win 7 does its stuff and picks up OS. With a fair wind and a lot of luck SAD may be taking to the sky later on tonight - having said that the luck I'm having currently I wouldn't be at all surprised if the only thing I haven't changed (GFX Card) is goosed as well!! :cray: On the up side if all goes well I'm looking forward to seeing how FSX performs with i7 CPU and 8GB RAM - might even get to crank up settings at my ORBX airfields :clapping: Very nice! I am run

Very nice! Don't forget the black rings around the engine nacelles like on your C-17. That's one of the best parts of the paint job in my humble opinion

5/21/2012 Just an update! It has been a good week for us at Air Cargo Hawaii. The new employees Anthony and Melissa are doing fine and are really earning their pay. We have been doing a lot of jobs around the islands. Air Cargo Hawaii used to service the western islands of Oahu and Kauai for most of the time, but with the addition of the 210M we have been making more and more trips east, expanding our client base. I hired yet another pilot. I didn't really plan on it, but I think it is a good choice. The guy is named Jared and he is very young and inexperienced, but is showing a lot of t
