I took the plunge and purchased P3D v2 and I am downloading it now. Will be installing soon after and will report back. Lots of my FSX add ons will be also installed, Airbus X and REX initially then others bit by bit.

I have an Acer 27inch monitor 1920x1080 resolution for sale or would swap for Saitek rudder pedals. Not sure of exact monitor model but will take a look and find out the specs and add some images if interested. The monitor is in great condition and has no dead pixels. Willing to do a straight swap or will take £100.00 for the monitor.

Great looking scenery but then again the default is quite good with amazing night lighting. I have been using X-Plane 10 quite a lot lately.

+1 I find starting FSX from a reboot always gives me a better ride. FSX on my system has it's own drive and operating system and this drive only contains FSX so I reboot the system selecting this drive.

It would be great to see graphics this good in our flight sims, perhaps P3D v2.0 might be.

There is no error message, just stutters then freezes and CTD with the "stopped responding" then restarts FSX

Thanks for the replies, yes I have automatic updates running and I will also bin the temp files too. So I will disable auto updates and see how it goes.

I was just reading on the P3D website that v2.0 is to be released this month, great news and I will be getting it for certain.

For some reason my FSX has started doing the CTD. When flying any aircraft the frame rate stutters and freezes then the CTD happens with a window appearing saying that FSX has stopped responding and FSX then restarts I have not made any changes to settings so I have no idea what's causing it.

That must be Airbus X. In DX10 mode the Navigation display is not shown correctly as seen in your video. However this is a great video.

I think I will wait for v2.0 to be released before purchasing it. Things like DX11 and multi GPU I will benefit from with my system.

I learned the effects of this when flying my R/C helicopter. When moving into forward flight from the hover the rotor blades produce more lift due to increased airflow over them so for the same amount of collective pitch the helicopter will climb in forward flight. Also a right hand rotating main rotor will cause the helicopter to leave the ground "right skid last" and the opposite for a left hand rotating main rotor, I doubt this applies to a coaxial system however

I just saw a Youtube video in which it was mentioned that by next year you won't be able to activate FSX any longer upon installation as Microsoft will be closing the servers for good.

If you have any of those old style Red/Blue 3D glasses put them on and see what you think of these shots. I have not resized them so you can enjoy them at 1920x1080 To create these I just used FSX in 3D and captured screenshots in the usual way.

A close relative of the wife has given me a load and I mean a load of charts for Canada, One of them for example is for Ontario and is 390 pages. I shall be doing some reading for a long time I think. All called Canada air pilot instrument procedures

This is very true. I have 25years of flying experience of RC helicopters and the same principal applies, indeed I know some full size pilots who have attempted RC helis and find then too difficult.

I was always under the impression that you had to use a 3D 120hz monitor and the 3D Nvidia glasses. It seems I am wrong. I discovered by looking in the Nvidia control panel the I can use those red / blue glasses too on a standard 60hz LED IPS monitor so I gave it a try and WOW!! The 3D cockpits look amazing and gives you the feel that you are really sat in it. The whole experience is amazing and the graphics are nice and smooth, no stutter or anything. Not tried all the aircraft yet but the Captain Sim 777 is the most stunning 3D cockpit I have tried out, it has to be seen to be believ
