It was in the late 70s and the 80's and I was young...lol I was in the crew of a half tonner named "Crazy Horse" and we won the RORC championship in our category. I was racing the Cowes week, the Channel Race, Cowes Dinard, etc... the years after I was on board a famous one tonner from Saint Malo named "Revolution" ( plan from JM Finot, skipper Jean Louis Fabry) and we won quite a few races. I could participate twice in the Fastnet race on this boat. After that had to leave town for job, I sailed in La Trinité in southern Brittany, in La Rochelle and then almost 10 years in Antibes (south

Merci ! I have seen on the map where you live, not far from here, I sometimes drive by on my way to Collioure where I happen to spend some week ends.

Yes I know, fortunately Christmas is coming...

OK I tried... But I'm usually really low on fuel, when I take off on a return trip to base I usually load 1.5 times what I need because fuel is much cheaper at base.

If you have a look at my blog (address in signature), you will se that most of the time I land with the "Low Fuel" light on...

Based in CYPR - Prince Rupert, British Columbia. I love the landscapes over there, but in real would be too cold for me... good thing about virtual flying !

I've been sailing for 30 + years, not affraid of water, specially when it's warm.

Thks for advice, I know you can try and do that, but I like it the hard way, feels great when you've earned it ! I'm at 44 reputation, only 12 missions to go...

Thks.. in Air Hauler, you sometimes need to take some risks to earn some dough !

Flying by Les Saintes on the way to base in Marie Galante (Guadeloupe - French West Indies)

Thks. I don't specially like the 172, but that's what you get when you start an Air Hauler company in career mode... I already have a 185F Skywagon from Carenado waiting with toundra wheels, skis and floats. As soon as I can have the money ! Then when I get rich I have an Aerosoft Twin Otter in the hangar... It's getting cold, I think I will soon have more operations with my caribbean company in Marie Galante !

Internal or External FPS Limiters?
Corsaire31 replied to Ruzzo's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
It was an interesting read, although I didn't learn anything I hadn't read somewhere else before. Interesting document to keep, it's now stored on my backup HD. I am more of a virtual flyer than a PC tester, I much prefer spending my time flying than experimenting tweaks, so I guess my install will stay the way it is now. - I don't plan on overclocking anything (except for my graphics card which is originally overclocked but well refreshed with 2 x 100mm fans - 26°C on idle) - I'm happy with how my FSX runs with DX9 and don't think I will jump in DX 10 experimenting (but hey, you never k -
Internal or External FPS Limiters?
Corsaire31 replied to Ruzzo's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
Thks will download and have a look. Will tell you if this makes any change to my opinion. Only thing I was saying is that by following Nick's guide which was a very interesting read, specially the hardware part for me who was rebuilding a new machine. (not each and all though... I picked my choices) I have a smooth running FSX. I don't personnally know the guy so I wouldn't dare having an opinion on his personality...But I'm also happy with Flight 1 stuff so far. PS I see his name as the first one in the "thank you to major contributors" list of the Avsim guide, so it can't be that bad ! -
Antilles Air Xpress made its maiden flight.. Seafood to haul to Nevis. Beautiful weather and overflight of Guadeloupe.

Internal or External FPS Limiters?
Corsaire31 replied to Ruzzo's topic in Flight Simulator X (FSX) / FSX Steam Edition
I installed FSX on my new machine following Nick's advice at Flight 1 in an article called "The Bible" http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html One of the best things I read about setting up hardware and software. He is still writing new chapters. I use the internal limiter set at 30 fps (half the monitor refresh rate) and so far it runs smooth as butter never less than 29.9 fps and no stutters. I fly GA only and don't have tons of addons : UTX (Europe, Canada, Alaska) + GEX (Europe and North America) + Flight environment X + Ultimate traffic -
Thks for your kind msg and for dropping by at my blog... My plans are not to develop a "World Company" as I am more a bush pilot and don't fly heavy metal. Think my biggest aims are DC3s and Twin Otter for Canada. I like floatplanes also and bought the all around 185 Skywagon from Carenado. Don't plan on hiring an army of pilots either, just want to have 2 or 3 small profitable businesses in parts of the world where I would dream to fly in real. If there is a next one, it will probably fly from Punta Arenas in Patagonia. But let's get the first ones on the way...

Thks for your welcome messages, guys ! Teaser for yesterday's story on my blog : "End of evening here, the forecast for western Canada shows a little better before a few days of bad weather. And what about trying to extract the Cessna from the rats hole in the mountains? If it doesn't work, I can always land back there again."

Just to briefly introduce myself. as I just joined these forums yesterday. I am 62, live in the South West of France and have been flying sims for the last 35 years. I had stopped for some years to fly FS as I was more in military sims (mainly Falcon 4.0). I am still practicing, but now with slower airplanes as I am in a squadron flying early planes in Rise of Flight, online multiplayer of course. I also fly Condor soaring regularly. As I recently built a new PC, I wanted to get back to FSX, but my problem had always been "what to do ?". A little research led me to Air Hauler and the word "c
