  1. First one: My new toy, PMDG 777-200 over the North Sea
  2. If you want to do IFR, I would recommend watching Belynz's 7 part how to vatsim series. It is rather old, but incredibly helpful. The only major difference is the choice of pilot clients - he talks about FSInn, Squawkbox and XSquawkbox, but since then vPilot has come out, which I use. It is very easy to set up and also very user friendly.
  3. You see, I am the complete opposite, never flown VFR on Vatsim, but done a lot of IFR. It can be very rewarding when you do everything right, but also a tad boring when you're looking out the window of your 757 for 4 + hours over the Atlantic!
  4. Not at all, and that's the only problem with it, that you cannot guarantee to have ATC. Had a little from Madrid Centre on the way though.
  5. A few screenies from my trip down to Faro, using the A321. The flight was done on Vatsim (not scary at all - for all you doubters!). Over my home airport, EGTK Oxford/Kidlington Overall a very pleasant flight, calm at FL350 and lovely 26 degree heat in southern Portugal. Addons used in this flight: - Aerosoft Airbus - UK2000 EGBB - Orbx England - Aerosoft Holiday Airports - EZDOK camera addon - FSDreamteam GSX - vPilot client for connecting to Vatsim Safe landings everyone! Peter
  6. Carl, when you buy the Airbus you will get the latest version, and also email updates from whoever you bought it from when there is an update. This is just a reinstallation, and the files won't change location, so PFPX will still work with exporting flight plans. As for hotfixes, I haven't installed the latest hotfix but the others seem to have worked just fine. Regards Peter
  7. It says Airbus Extended, however I have the latest version and it works just fine. Once you have created your plan you click on the Export button. You then have a list of many different addons you can export the plan to, and for each one you can specify where the plan gets saved (for the Airbus it is documents\Aerosoft\Airbus\FlightPlans) and then click save. All that is left then is to go fly!
  8. Hi Carl, Assuming you are referring to the Aerosoft Airbus, then yes, the flight plan can be exported. The official list of supported aircraft is here: http://www.flightsimsoft.com/downloads/PFPX_Aircraft_AddOn_List.pdf Do note that this list may be slightly out of date but it is basically accurate. Cheers Peter
  9. Thanks guys for the responses, was watching the replay of the landing and saw the colours of the sky with the smoke from the landing gear - it was a picture that just had to be taken!
  10. Final shot for June from me - touchdown at a dusky EDDT.
  11. Recently switched to P3D, after a long period of thought and deliberation. Couldn't be happier with my decision to switch - better fps, proper shadows and far fewer fatal errors. Don't see myself ever touching FSX again.
  12. dodgy-Alan and all, sorry about that, slight senior moment there!
  13. Arrived back at EGHI after a nice hop to EGJJ and back.
  14. Outbound over EGHI, off to somewhere sunny!
