  1. Nice one! looks like I reinstalled FSX at the right time, just bagged myself the 146 200/300 and the DC6.
  2. Hey all, glad to see AH still going strong. I've finally managed to find my way out of the jungle to set up in Tefe, Brazil. Somerbody really needs to do something about the roads here! I'm a bit worried about my first load though, fish, in the Amazon, If they're pirahanas then I'm towing em behind me in a glider!
  3. Not sure about your pay/name issues, but the lack of runway information will affect you if you intend to expand and hire Ai pilots. You wont be able to assign them jobs to and from this airfield because it'll show up as them being unable to land the aircraft there. London City also has this issue, but I'm unable to work out how to fix it, sorry.
  4. Bloody hell! Never thought of ebay, I've never even bought anything from there! Thanks for the find!
  5. Yeah, already done that, it's the first thing I do when I start a new company. But dont be sorry, if you've ever worked in tech support you'll know that the obvious things are the ones that have most likely gone wrong!!!
  6. Does anyone have an old set of these laying around gathering dust they'd be interested in selling? Something like Thrustmaster Elites or RCS?
  7. Imagine the cost just to get the typhoon airborne! All because some pilot tuned his radio to classic FM instead of ATC!
  8. Hi Guys, glad to see everyone is still going strong. I just started a new company, on easy, cos I dont get much time to fly these days. Douglas Airfreight flying DC3's out of London City. Ok, so In the real world they wouldnt be allowed in, They make far too much noise, but I have EGLC as an addon, and it looks great, but here's my problem: The runway is listed as approx 4500 feet in length, the DC 3 is listed in AH as needing 1000m of runway. 1000m = a smidge under 3281m leaving over 100m spare. However When I try to get the AI to fly into EGLC AH tells me that the runway is too short? Any
  9. Well, I went with RC4, and I'm well impressed! At first the slightly robotic voices got to me, but that faded really quickly, It's increased the immersion factor hugely. Was a little shocked to be flying around Thailand and suddenly hear a broad Yorkshire accent from the controller though! Far better than the FS basic ATC for sure. Decided to leave off AS for a while though, I think my rig will have problems handling it, I build this system over 5 years ago, it still runs things like Crysis cranked way up, but I still get a few graphical glitches in FSX. I did treat myself to the Captainsim
  10. If you started with a 172 then you're either on hard or career mode. The only difference being that in career you're limited to MTOW's by rank. Good luck with it, I just started the company I'll probably stick with myself, after restarting countless companies in different places for the last week or so! Ghurkali Air Services (no jokes about GAS please ) flying out of Kathmandu Intl in Nepal. Started with the 172 myself, but it's bloody hard to even get it out of the valley!
  11. I can vouch for FlyUk being a good fun VA, I used to fly with them many years ago, in fact I was one of the Helicopter Divisions IP's! I haven't thought about them in years since I put FS9 away, Brings back some fun memories seeing their site, looks like they've had a major overhaul and revamp. And yeah, taking off and landing into the wind... just to keep on topic
  12. I'm sold on AS then, just need to pick an ATC now, I've read good and bad about both RC4 and FEX... bloody developers giving us too much choice
  13. Cheers for that, looks like I'll be going for one of the WX addons soon then, as well as an ATC add on. So let the arguments begin.. Activesky or REX? Proflight Extreme or RC4?
  14. Right. So I have another question now, It's probably something stupidly simple, but I haven't managed to find any info on these forums, or anywhere else on the net. I have AH set to download real weather, but when I get into FSX I'm faced with the default fine weather every time. I figured it was an FS thing, so I went to the settings menu and told it to dl real weather updating every 15 minutes, however, every time I close the sim it defaults back to the boring fine weather setup, and loads that even if I try to get AH to force it to load RW weather. Any way I can force FSX to download weat
  15. The screename comes from the best insult I ever received bit of a story though. I was winding up a friend I surf with about her not wanting to risk the reef at one of our favourite beach breaks, she's a standup, and rides a longboard, I ride prone on a bodyboard (not like kids in the white water, if you want to see what real bodyboarding is try a youtube search for Mike Stewart or Ben Player) Now reefs like the one at Connies are nasty, it's very shallow, and not really safe for stand up riders, even bodyboarders get injured there regularly, anyway, I think I called her a gibber or somethin
  16. Ahhhh... I knew I shouldn't play with the realism too much... I know that in the real world gyros drift, but tbh, that's a little more realism than I actually want in my simming Thanks for the help, I guess I really ought to check what setting do before I play with em
  17. First of all, Hi, I guess I'm coming to AH late, Usually I fly military sims, but I used to have fun with a VA in FS9 so I thought I'd try FSX. Loving it so far, although I seem to spend a lot of time deleting companies and restarting because I'm not happy with some aspect or other of my choices at startup Ok, so to my question, and I'll start by saying it's probably not linked to AH at all, but I didn't notice it before when I was just flying around in FSX. I seem to have some creep in my HSI, doesn't seem to matter what aircraft, or where in the world I fly, but AH flights can be out as mu
