Quickmarch 488
Nice shots. Nice scenery package, too I'd like to know where the Cat came from. I've not seen that radio stack before. Who did the model?
mike H 456
Hi John thanks for your comments. In answer to your Q. The PBY Catalina came from Aerosoft via Just Flight. It comes with two different cockpits 1940s/1950s and one fitted with modern equipment as in my cockpit shot.

dodgy-alan 1,587
Great shots of a lovely aircraft, I bet the owner of the clubhouse wasn't too pleased when you started the engines that close to the building, would have blown a few tiles off!
mike H 456
Thanks guys. Nice one John it happens to the best of us. Alan I did manage to blow some hats off but it was the black smoke that got them in the end. that will teach them not to stand to close.
dodgy-alan 1,587
Alan I did manage to blow some hats off but it was the black smoke that got them in the end. that will teach them not to stand to close. I used to have fun doing things like that with my cars. On one occasion It was outside my stepsons school in West London. We were getting fed up with a horde of Asian women that would congregate around the school gate at home time, jabbering away and making it difficult for other parents to get in and out. So I hatched a plan, After I'd dropped Alex off at school in the morning, I waited until all the parents had gone, then moved my car, and old Morris Marina, to a position right by the gate where they congregated. I then popped the hood and proceded to fill the carburettor and, (via the spark plug holes), the cylinders with REDEX, Now this stuff is great, it clears off all the carbon and other deposits from the fuel systems, the cylinders etc, and blows it all out of the tail pipe. The longer you leave it , the better it works. I then locked the car up and walked home. At 3 pm I walked back to the school and sure enough, the Asian horde was back in place yapping away and blocking the gate. I waited for Alex to come out. then started the car, Kaboom!! you should have seen the smoke, It was like a bomb had gone off. Tons of thick grey smoke billowing from the exhaust as all the rubbish cleared out! Everybody ran like mad convinced i'd blown up, that was apart from the few parents I'd told about the plan who were just killing themselves laughing! Oddly enough, we hardly ever had problems again.........and the Asians kept well away if my car was parked anywhere in the area!...Result!
