A few PMDG 777 shots

Recommended Posts

As part of my current in-depth appraisal of the PMDG 777 I've been flying her rather a lot in recent weeks, so I just thought I'd share some quick snaps (all with FTX Global and Orbx England):

With medium loads, those powerful engines can get her out of some surprisingly small airports:

Departing Stansted — the curve on that wing is something else!

Approaching a busy Heathrow

Contented Captain!

Lovely shots Bruce, made all the better with the site logo!

Did you clone your face onto the pilot in the last shot?!

.. It also looks like you are flying with another famous Brucie  :pilotic:

Cheers

Joe

<grin> Guilty as charged, Joe (I didn't change the photo, the pilots' faces have been changed).   :whis:   The F/O is in fact my old friend Martin, who is also my scenery guru....

I have made the celebrated logo bigger, as you will have noticed: thank you for your kind permission to use it.    :D

Cheers,

Bruce

Meanwhile in case you missed this in General, can you help?

Could someone please tell me if this small flap door should be open even in flight?  Is there a way to close it?

Flap is closed on loading:

Deleted by me.. answered and spanked :stars:

Then opens after fully loading:

Deleted by me.. answered and spanked :stars:

The open flap in question, is the one below the rear starboard service door

Also you will notice another small flap door opens just above the left tyre on the starboard wing.

How do you close them?

:anyone:       :wacko2:      :thanks:

Nice shots Brian/Bruce, she looks great in your colors. :thum: Sounds like you have been having a grand ol'time. Have you found any problems with it, I'm sure you have been giving it a good going over.

Those wings make it look like it's in some sort of ninja stance. :D

Let me know if you want James spanked for hijacking your thread. ;)  :P (BTW-BF answered you in the other thread you started James)

My apologies Bruce for the semi hijacking of your topic and my butt is sore from what Brett has punished me for..  :woot:

Yes BF has given me the answer to the flapjack.

Now! What other problems can I cause 2 get Brett to spank me for?  :yahoo:

Thank you for your kind comments, gentlemen!   :)

Sorry I missed the spankings, but it sounds as though a good time was had by all....   :whis:

> "Have you found any problems with it...."

Well yes, Brett, but quite honestly, given its very considerable complexity that's inevitable on first release — and PMDG are already committed to releasing SP1 to solve them. But when I can manage to stop myself flying her and actually make more progress with writing the review (sorry, Joe), I promise I will answer your question more fully!   ^_^

> " Imagine a PMDG 787 - what wing-flex then!"

<happy sigh>  Ah yes.... The only snag being that, taking into account the PMDG production rate, by the time it appears I will probably have dropped off my perch.   :cray:

Cheers,

Bruce.

Or something....

When I saw you pic of soton i thought where did all those trees come from? my soton doesnt have them it has pretty gorse bushes (which I was happy with) so went delving into the settings to find autogen at zero---- increased that to dense and now I have a forest everywhere, am not sure which one i prefer as the trees are oversized, still one cant have it all

Oh! nice pics matey       I cant make up my mind if I want to go with the T7 ,, will have to see.

Great pics, smart livery.  :thum:

Just one thing, the area of Heathrow where you were flying into is far from green and pleasant, the M25 is about 8 lanes wide and there are loads of industrial estates in the area. that corner also has the village of Colnbrook bordering the airport. I'm always amazed at how American FS developers seem to think that England is one big farmyard ! Then they stick buildings where there aren't any( dirty great Highrises on the South Downs bordering Goodwood no-less, Grrrr) I really wish they'd get it right !

  • 2 weeks later...

(Apologies for the late reply, folks, but I've been writing.....)    :P

@britfrog

Yes, the whole tree thing seems to have got a bit out of hand with Orbx. Have you seen this thread: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/62900-trees-on-the-runway-report-here-please/page-1 ? Five pages of it so far, and still going strong.....

@dodgy-alan

Ah, you must be one of those VFR fellas. Believe me, the only scenery I see is mostly on the approach, and usually at that point I'm a bit too busy trying to achieve a controlled crash to worry about the fine points. If I wanted accuracy I'd sacrifice performance and go for photo-realistic, but for me FTXG et al are great: and from 40,000 ft all I need is a general impression. Maybe things will improve in terms of the vector scenery aspects such as roads and so on when Orbx produce their Open_LC , but we'll have to wait and see.

Colnbrook. Yes, I believe the property prices there aren't too healthy at the moment?    ;)

Cheers,

Bruce  (near EGLF, and just down the road from EGLL)

Good Day, Brian747/777/Bruce/AKA

I too have a question:

When I am flying the PMDG 737NGX at night, I can see out of the cockpit window many stars shining.  How many are there?

Thank you
