mutley 4,495
For me, the PA livery is the most iconic of the era although never imagined I would see it in winglets!
dodgy-alan 1,587
I love the 727, they always looked like they meant business! I don't recall ever seeing a PANAM one with winglets though. I think that airline was long gone by the time winglets appeared on aircraft. I could be wrong though.

M.I.B. 39
Enjoyed the pics. Actually Pan Am went down in 1991...plenty of winglets back then
britfrog 180
This is what i first flew when I got my license and yes the pan am flights bring back lots of memories as well as i worked for Pan am before going to flying school, one day i will ramble on about just how good a 727 really is and how there still is not a plane that can equal it. brett 2,310
Nice shots Geoff, I never get tired of looking at that aircraft. Thanks for showing it off.
hifly 925
Thanks all, I'm glad it created some nostalga. Flew in a few myself, they were the business. I can recommend this Capt Sim little beauty and its big bro the 707 to those who like flying old school; VOR to VOR, no GPS, no FMC, no autothrottle, steam gauges. You really gotta fly these babies, it makes me Poor old PanAm, shame to see a historical, global (and orbital if you include the Orion spacecraft in Kubricks 2001,) name disappear. TWA a gonner too, I did some work for them but that's another story.
jaydor 345
Thanks for the trip down memory lane..
M.I.B. 39
I gave up on CS 707 in favor of HJG 707 as for some reason, CS would simply not pick up the GS signal. After VERY much frustration I also gave up on CS 727 in favor of HJG 727 as well. Much more versions at HJG... Long story...

hifly 925
Thanks again all. Dorel I'm interested in HJG. Who and where are they?
M.I.B. 39
Hello hifly, Sorry for the delay! HJG' (Historic Jetliner Group) aircraft simulations are among the best freewares, and the group focuses (as their name suggests) on historic jetliners. Check my HJG review HERE. They not only produce/offer high quality aircraft, they also provide professional support on their forum. Here's their website: http://simviation.com/hjg/ Some simulations have more systems modeled than other simulations, some are more "professional" than others, but all of them are "serious" ones, not just "I-was-bored-so-I-was-thinking-I-could-model-this-aircraft" type of simulations. Their 727 and 707 are among the best crafts offered by HJG. Highly recommend them!
mutley 4,495
Nice round up Dorel
hifly 925
Thanks Dorel, I've checked their site and I see they are zip files. Now to my utter shame I have not got to grips with zips, stupid really because there is a lot of good freeware. BTW I find Capt Sims 707/727 hold the glideslope if you really watch your speed. Best Regards,
M.I.B. 39
Ooooo..kaaaaaay then Well, that only happened on 707, the 727 "fought" really hard to stay in my hangar...it eventually lost the battle with HJG tho
