Leg 97 - Ajaccio, Corsica (LFKJ) to Palma, Mallorca (LEPA)

Recommended Posts

Bravo John!

You still manage to pull a great post out of the bag.

I bit of a tall order given what you described above but you achieved it well done!

Thanks for getting us safely to Mallorca, as I mentioned earlier I have laid on hospitality at my Sister in Laws house!!

Cheers

Pano's, I thought you did well in written English!?

(Note to self, must trim those emoteicons!)

Yes, I did well there, but I just wanted to use emoticons. is there any problem with these? I was stunned with these shots (that's why I've inserted  ) and I wanted to congratulate John for his effort ( :good , ,twobeats2forum_2ddb4e2a0218-star.gif, thumbsup.gif)

Hey John.

I think you did very well considering the difficulties. I can imagine your frustration as i had a C-130 flight CTD half way through a flight in Venezuela ATWC. What actually happened to your Graphics, sudden blurries and jaggies are never a good thing. It's a shame you had such a hard time of it, i for one really enjoyed my ATWC legs.

Good show old chap!

Hi John! Just got back from Ajaccio after engine problems - hence time lag. What a leg you had, eh? I guess that's why I always fly in perfect weather..... And with all that technology behind you, it's a miracle you got to Palma at all!

No, seriously, well done - I do like the A/C - maybe a bit complicated, but, if it handles well, then you're more than half way home, I guess. I've been in and out of LEPA a few times (in the eighties) - once, after take-off, we hit some turbulence - the s*ck-bags came out, the nuns behind us started saying their prayers, and the cabin staff put Ave Maria on the loud-speakers - I kid you not! Still, Majorca is magic - nice, friendly people and lovely scenery.

I apologise for not leaving the buildings at LFKJ for you to use - but your ascent was so quick, you wouldn't notice. When I saw the following screen-shot, I thought I'd skipped threads to Joe's one about sim history!!:

Must have been the GPU? Hope the LBR was to your satisfaction....

Thanks for carrying the baton - take care of it, please, Mr Kieran!!

Cheers - Dai.

Dai,

The black streaks were tire marks on the touch-down zone of the runway, courtesy of the cheesy scenery, but the graphics engine was acting up at that time too, obviously. This was the leg from hell, no doubt!

The structure in the background was the skeletal frame of a building, possibly intended to simulate a construction project in progress.

I know I'm going to regret asking, but charging bravely in despite my suspicions of it being a set-up, please explain LBR?

John

Fantastic post and commentary John - although I did hit my head when I fell of my seat with the shock of you flying something with a glass cockpit :yikes:  Looks like a great addon. I see you are enjoying FSNav too, it's a good little utility isn't it. And I'll add myself to the list of frustrated flyers today - I flew a San Juan - Punta Cana hop earlier in a Skylines ATR and I found afterwards that the Flynet client had crashed halfway through and didn't register the flight. And my first decent landing in the ATR too. Oh well.

Well done on another excellent leg

Lovely post, John. All the shots were up to scratch and the commentary (especially at the start and end) was perfectly handled. :thum:

Sorry this reply is late. I am replying to all the fantastic legs completed while I have been absent! :blush

Best Regards,

George : Tap
