Kasper 14
After flying Alaska and the PNW for the last couple of years I decided to go and fly somewhere warm. Maun Botswana is a famous Bush Flying airfield so I decided to open a new company there. I bought me a brand new Cessna 206 with Cargo Pod - you a lot of them around here - and moved from Alaska to Botswana. The weather is pretty challenging, but the temps are a lot higher! So now I am starting to fly cargo to the tourist resorts and sometimes get to spend the night there too. It's a hard life and flying looks like this: I might get used to doing this for a while although I start to miss the mountains already. Blue skies Kasper
brett 2,315
Talk about out of the freezer and into the frying pan. Now where were you, oh yeah, make a left where the river makes a double 'S' turn and a right at the big tree........ Have fun and good luck with the new company Kasper. btw-Don't forget to warn folks to put sunglasses on before letting them see you in shorts.
Corsaire31 419
Now that's an unusual place to set up a company ! Would be way to hot for me... But sounds like a good idea although the landscape could become somewhat boring after a while, except if you make some trips to South Africa. Good luck for the new company... Kasper 14
The area is OK with some freeware add-on scenery for southern Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Still the main challenge is the weather since it has none of the mountains I've gown used to in Alaska / PNW. I guess I will take regular trips from Johannesburg - Cairo - Amsterdam - Gander - Anchorage and vice-versa with the DC-8 after I have established this base in Botswana and after I have hired some good staff to run the show. For now I have to do everything myself. With a reputation of 41% and around 93K in debt I have some work to do before this is operation is a success. About shorts: I wouldn't dream of wearing those! Do you know how many venomous creepy crawlers you can encounter here!

Kasper 14
After the first couple of days I have a reputation of 42% and I am getting into a stride. The big thing here (as a pilot) is not the terrain but the weather. You are dodging storm cells constantly. Never a dull moment. Ferrying supplies to the resorts goes something like this. You arive at your plane sporting a new paint job. And after take off this is what you will be looking at. You will be constantly flying around storm cells while trying to go in the general direction of your destination. When you get near your destination you frantically start looking for a small opening to actually get to the strip. And finally you succeed Who would have thought that a luxury safari looks like this from above? A shot of the local control tower?
brett 2,315
Great paint job, you must look good playing ring around the un-rosy storm clouds.
Kasper 14
Lesson: with this faul weather don't take on jobs with only 2 days to deliver the goods. You run a big risk of not being able to find the strip in 2 days! Rep back to 40.5%
