Delta Airlines: Atlanta-Miami

Recommended Posts

I've recently been in the mood for some American flying having confined almost all of my previous flying to Europe.

Here is a flight in the 767-300ER (LevelD) of Delta, from Atlanta (KATL) to Miami (KMIA)

Only editing is a bit of sharpening and a bit of blur where I thought appropriate...I hope you enjoy!

For this set i recommend this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHDxu10g ... re=related

You will realise when you hear it!

Parked up in Atlanta...how can you tell this is a massive Delta hub?!

fsscr000-17.jpg

We receive our clearance to KMIA, and today's cruise altitude of Flight Level 330

fsscr001-17.jpg

It's beginnging to get hot around here!

fsscr002-17.jpg

Starting our taxi out to 09L, the usual safety announcement is in progress

fsscr003-15.jpg

Just how many DAL flights are there?!

fsscr004-18.jpg

It's rush hour as we just beat another aircraft into the takeoff queue...

fsscr005-15.jpg

But being a simulator...I decided to skip the queue!

fsscr006-17.jpg

Caught here at Vr

fsscr007-13.jpg

And again!

fsscr008-14.jpg

The 767 is starting to age...but it still flies like a dream!

fsscr010-12.jpg

It's so flat over here...

fsscr011-15.jpg

Still on a straight out heading as we look back at KATL

fsscr012-13.jpg

And looking at today's route on the Nav Display

fsscr013-10.jpg

Powering through the cloud level!

fsscr014-12.jpg

The start of a gradual turn to the south to head towards Florida

fsscr015-12.jpg

The passengers just can't wait to get on that beach!

fsscr016-9.jpg

Making another turn, this time heading towards Jacksonville, FL.

fsscr017-14.jpg

Cruising along nice and smoothly today

fsscr018-9.jpg

Coming along by the east coast now

fsscr019-10.jpg

I think the blue of the livery goes well with the sea and the sky!

fsscr020-13.jpg

Looking down over quite a big place...

fsscr021-12.jpg

This turn takes us in the destination of Orlando

fsscr022-9.jpg

Crossing back over the land

fsscr023-6.jpg

There is Orlando Intl. KMCO, and if you have brilliant eyesight you would have been able to see Disney World...

fsscr024-12.jpg

The most inland body of water I believe is called the Indian River..?

fsscr025-10.jpg

A view from the tale as we've descended a bit, nearing Miami

fsscr026-9.jpg

We descend more as we head out to sea, ready to make an approach to runway 27L

fsscr028-10.jpg

Coming in on finals now, and we can see Miami Beach

fsscr034-5.jpg

Another beautiful day here in Florida, but clouds are beginning to loom...

fsscr036-7.jpg

Now we can see downtown; there are some cruise ships in

fsscr038-7.jpg

We're looking good for this one!

fsscr040-7.jpg

A nice parallel landing!

fsscr041-5.jpg

Full landing config with the high rise buildings of Miami seen behind

fsscr042-3.jpg

Nearly down now!

fsscr043-4.jpg

Power taken off, ready for the touch

fsscr044-4.jpg

Spoilers deployed, reversers in action, dead on the centreline!

fsscr045-1.jpg

Having turned off the runway...this is where I could do with spending some time on a grass edit...

fsscr047-4.jpg

Making our way along to an empty gate!

fsscr049-1.jpg

We fine one and let our passengers into Florida!

fsscr050-2.jpg

I hope you enjoyed!

Sceneries for KATL, KMIA and Miami city are free off Avsim,

Aircraft is the LevelD 767.

Great work Phil, wish I had time to read it properly but I'm just waiting for our lift to the airport to arrive so will catch up when I get back.

We will be flying on an internal flight from MCO to MIA on Delta on Sunday! Embraer 145, I will try and get some shots.

Bye :mrhappy:

  • 2 weeks later...

Well Phil,

Having flown Delta from MCO to MIA last Sunday on a Delta EMB 145 we landed on the same runway having made the same approach so this post brought back some happy memories :yikes:

I'm looking to doing some American legs too.

Cheers
