mutley 4,488
Russ White, the founder and director of White Digital Simulations (WDS) has just posted the latest development shots of their "Core Trees" From Russ... "A selection of screenshots direct and unedited from FSX, showing the 20 variations of WDS trees in their summer form. These trees will be used to populate each WDS airport and the surrounding scenery, utilizing HDX technology, providing the ultimate in visual realism. These trees, form part of WDS 'Core', an extensive library of items which will populate each WDS airport. 'Core' is made up of trees and vegatation, vehicles, buildings, GSE and clutter etc, so expect more previews of other 'Core' content soon! flybytes 34
Impressive! Do I take that these are only local to WDS scenery? If so, shame that they don't release a version to globally replace the FSX default trees. Ray.
Kevin Firth 114
Yes I think they are intended to be only local, but once you have the textures and models, I suppose they could be used to replace standard autogen, just some jiggery pokery with the autogen xmls and the guids? PCAviator 30
Does look stunning! Would be ideal to have as a global tree replacement, but then that might take a bit of the shine off the individual airports that use them (from a marketing perspective anyway). Nonetheless, this looks impressive.
