Corsaire31 419
Nice pics, makes me wish I could find some more time to fly helos in FSX, I think the last time I flew helos was EECH a few years ago after the Microprose Gunship series...
ddavid 149
How do you like the R66? Similar to the R22 or does it feel a lot different? Nice pics, Rob - Thanks for sharing. Cheers - Dai.
rob16584 42
I have no idea Dai, haha. I'm just getting to grips with one to start with. I can take off, fly straight and level and sort of hover. Landing is a bit hit and miss at the moment!
brett 2,315
........ Landing is a bit hit and miss at the moment! Just do the opposite of taking off. Thanks for the shots, looks like a nice spot for a joy ride.

dodgy-alan 1,587
Nice pics, Helos do take some getting used to. You may find it easier to turn crash detection off until you get the hang of them. Most helo landings are controlled crashes to start off with. Oddly enough I found the bigger ones such as the Sea King and MI-26 actually easier than the small stuff. MyPC8MyBrain 273
Helo's sure take time to get used toits not only the added sensitivity needed on the controllersor the hand feet and eye coordination requiredits the dynamic in which the heli operatefor me it is extremely difficult to fly a fixed wingthe dynamic is so different; my brain instinctively reacts with Heli dynamic phantomsmy first instincts is to flare or bank to slow down; thats what my brain tells my hands to dosetting the Helo back down is not semi controlled crashes it does take some skills and planning ahead getting comfy with a new helo can take some time knowing your field doesn't hurt your confidance

Landing is a bit hit and miss at the moment! O.K. - it's back to basics, Rob! Try this training technique - I use it every time I get into a new model - it helps you get to know the flight dynamics in easy steps: https://vimeo.com/76757852 Hope that helps... @ Brett - "controlled crashes" indeed!
