britfrog 180
over the years we have taken zillions of pics so swmbo and I are scanning them to save room. here are a few goodies of Popham, the hangar with the spits etc at the time had 1 mustang , 1 me 109, 7 spitfires (some in the loft awaiting restoration) 1 tempest, 2 hurricanes, whenever one was finished we were invited to a champagne day, bloody magic!! The woman in the rear of the Harvard and the yak is SWMBO who loves aerobatics, she loves them so much my m8 with the yak took her up on more than one occasion.. the geyser in the spit was my dad , the reason he is sticking his tongue out is because we made the comment it was easier to get in and out 40 years before was because he was slimmer enjoy http://s739.photobucket.com/user/britfrog/slideshow/popham

dodgy-alan 1,587
Some lovely old aircraft there, many sadly long gone. The Vimy is now in a Museum after she completed her record breaking flights. I saw her at Farnborough when she set off for Australia, then later she flew into Goodwood one evening as I was at a concert at Fontwell Park Racecourse. It was still just about daylight and she whispered overhead like a giant green moth! I think there were only about a dzen of us that noticed it as the rest of the large crowd were intent on the music in front of them. A really lovely aircraft and i feel privilaged to have seen her in action.
