dodgy-alan 1,587
Miles M-20 fighter. This aircraft was designed as an emergency fighter to fill the shortfall in production of the Spitfire and Hurricane. The aircraft used many readily available parts to speed up production. The most noticable being the entire engine and nascelle from the Lancasrer bomber! It featured a low mounted cantelever wing to which the fixed undercarriage was attached. In spite of this performance was good as the u/c although adding some drag, did not have to carry the weight of a retraction gear. Performance was imilar to and fact in some cases better than the Hurricane. In the event it was not needed and none ever reached the squadrons. more info here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_M.20 thanks for viewing
Timothy Brooks 9
Nice shots! I always enjoy the history that you give with each aircraft. Thanks for sharing!

Larry 1
It looks very cartoonish and remedial. There is no realism to the way that it looks at whatsoever.

Can't do much about that, it's the way Miles designed it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_M.

The real aircraft looks real, obviously. I am referring to the screenshots you posted. The model has no depth or textures. Everything looks flat and clean. Like a cartoon from the fifties. The real aircraft is a nice plane. The sim model you posted, no offense, looks like crap.

brett 2,285
Thanks for the look at the 'mini' Lancaster, interesting way of taking advantage of what was available to create a fighter during a crucial time.
