Couple more from NZ hauling.

I keep forgetting that it is actually winter down there, as I fly from my muggy warm boat hull in summer California. This was from a couple days ago...IFR flying again :) . Man that snow looked good. :)

Shot over into Milford Sound today (will post a video of the landing later..man those upload slowly :(  ...maybe I shouldn't watch Netflix during? hehehe...my poor internet ), The weather changed fast in the NZ mountains, and was MUCH nicer today. VFR flying around a lovely triangle route to shift two of the best valued cargos on my Job List...and just a little bit of cloud avoiding towards the end back into Mt. Cook. I didn't land at Queenstown, but the route flew me right over it...nice scenic bonus.

Diving down to Milford side of the range.

Oh, and some testing outside of Airhauler has given me a good candidate for STOL "Heavy". Again from the RAF site thanks to Alan: Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer...it needed it's brakes adjusted (was set to 1.88, and flipped the plane even gently tapping the brakes...doh...set to 0.88, or 1.0 they work like normal brakes...) (Find here: http://www.robertjamesrichardson.co.uk/page4.html )

The scenery is gorgeous down there, thanks for the views. :)

I notice a lot of jagged edges on your aircraft Matt, have you ever read through and made changes to FSX using Kosta's Guide, it worked wonders for me to make things look cleaner. https://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/

I forget if use the payware Steve's fixer which would make the above guide null and void.

Well...thanks for a half day of fiddling, but I think I got it figured out. It was essentialy that I didn't have Anti aliasing selected...but selecting it killed my frame rates, and hence the half day of fiddling. hehe.

But, after pulling a few slider back a bit I am back to reasonable FR, and the scenery still looks pretty good, and may even be loading a bit faster. Def, back to 2048 max textures now, and seriously feeling like I need to start learning how to overclock...if I can do so a moderate bit without resorting to liquid cooling.

Around KSTS in a Waco fiddling with textures...looks pretty un jaggy to me now. What do you think?

And back to NZ

This weekend I ground out 10 jobs to get over the 55% Hiring Hump. (That Sniping tool is VERY handy for grabs like this...THANKS Brett! )

A great nearly last route of 6 jobs...love when it is possible to link up a number of jobs into a (ahem) neat round trip like this...Last two jobs were a couple 59 mile back and forths.

The trip was not without incident...i set the autopilot and nicked of to start some pot stickers frying, looked over to the monitors and saw a blur of snow rushing sorta close to the windows. (Cleary I misjudged the height of the approaching ridge...doh.)

Wake Up Call!! Since a Mooney doesn't actually have a galley, lets just say I dozed off, and startled myself awake with enough time to nearly carp my pants...kill the AP...

And CLIMB to the Moon Mooney.

Overall it was a very nice day for flying South Island. Gorgeous at times.

Upon my return I was very happy seeing a line of applicants responding to my recently post advertizement. Finally...someone to give me weekends off.

In for an oil change, and a good looking over. Not yet time for a complete maintenance, but I want to make sure everything is dialed in and screwed down tight before turning it over to a new hire. Always a crap shoot, new hires, I want to make sure they start rolling on an even table at least...so they can't blame the plane. :P
