As mentioned in another thread the cheque is in the post :mrhappy:

I took these shots on my way to the post office this morning (Yes, we still have one!)

A bit of commentary included

First stop the South Pond

IMG_0001.jpg

I woke these guys up!

IMG_0002.jpg

A view over to the Palace Ruin, doesn't look so good here as I'm shooting into the sun.

IMG_0003.jpg

This one is quite simply called "Fag Butt" this sort of thing annoys me because a) obviously it was discarded with no attempt to extinguish it and  I don't smoke /RANT!

IMG_0006.jpg

This is some excavation the council are carrying out to take the flood waters away from the pond and into the river.

IMG_0007.jpg

Approaching the "Palace"

IMG_0008.jpg

Not that way, it's a nice walk down there though.

IMG_0009.jpg

Checking the address (I hope posty can read this!)

IMG_0014.jpg

Another look into the grounds of the Palace.

IMG_0018.jpg

Into the town square

IMG_0019.jpg

What else would it be called!

IMG_0020.jpg

Check out the time Martin I expect you're still snoring!

IMG_0022.jpg

My destination.

IMG_0023.jpg

My purpose!

IMG_0024.jpg

Back over the North pond

IMG_0028.jpg

Ok point taken

IMG_0030.jpg

Don't do it Swan, it can't be that bad! You've heard of a DA well this is a SA ! I took a movie of him too!

IMG_0033.jpg

I talked him around, now he can cope with being a Swan

IMG_0035.jpg

The bit that doesn't feature in the towns advertising. For every one big house they knock down they can shoehorn in 30 apartments.

IMG_0037.jpg

The old railway branch line, another nice walk.

IMG_0039.jpg

Local vets, I was walking up hill which is why it looks a bit strange.

IMG_0041.jpg

This is the road next to mine, ironic really

IMG_0042.jpg

Looking out from the end of our road.

IMG_0050.jpg

The bowling green, I can hear the clop clop of the bowls when sat in my garden on a nice day!

IMG_0049.jpg

Just look at the pollen on the bonnet of my car.

IMG_0052.jpg

Well there you are back home and up to my PC to post these. Hope you enjoyed and Martin as you saw the letter was being collected at 11 am it would be interesting to know when it arrives!.

Cheers

Thanks Fred!

These were the better views, I forgot about the name of that road until I walked past it!

If anyone wants to add a picture of where you live to this post, feel free :mrhappy:

As Fred said (that rhymes) what an fantastic place you live Mut, I am jealous living in the city. :mrhappy:

Excuse my ignorance, but what was that ruined palace?

And guess what, I was awake when you posted it, Dan and I were delivering Katy's papers, she's to lazy so we end up doing it and giving her the money. I must be bonkers, but to be honest, she's such a pain when she does it we are better off on our own.

I may be a city boy but I do have a whopping pond opposite my house you know. I'll try and take some pics in a bit.

P.S. Hope you don’t suffer from hay fever with all that pollen around.

Martin, I was reaching for the allergy relief when I got home hence the comment! Don't normally suffer too much but the tree pollen does it for me, specially Silver Birch :mrhappy:

It is nice here but I guess we just get used to where we live and forget how it may look to someone else.

More information on the Ruined Palace here

Well I live on the South coast where a lot of our weather can come from Europe or even jetsteam in from Northern Africa.

Further up north in the "Black country" where Uncle Martin lives it barely gets above freezing, that's what I've heard. :mrhappy:

I few years ago I'm sure I never used to get so hot, perhaps it's my age, Uncle Martin will be able to tell you about that.

Like you say it's the humidity that is a killer, we have three fine days and a thunderstorm then summer's over!

Cheers

If only we had the thunderstorm side of it. We tend to get a cloudy day which follows the humid and hot ones but no rain.

The other day we took a trip up to one of Canberra's water supply dams - it's honestly very sad to see how much water is in there. Aussies here so much about the drought we are going through but it's only when you drive through the country or have a look at a dam and you see for yourself how bad it is.

Anyway, apologies for getting off topic!

:mrhappy: Just spotted that.

How many times do I have to tell you, I'm posh!!!

Don't believe a word of the high temperature thing Mut. How can they predict something as chaotic as weather that far in advance. It's another one of the predictions we bet every year, rarely right.

He he, I didn't say I believed it. But sometimes they say we are going to get unseasonal temperatures like recently, giving you the exact temperature and they are usually spot on. How does that work then?

Lets have have a review in the Autumn and see what really happened

:mrhappy:

Yes but you said '38+ this year' that implies well in advance.

When they predict un-seasonal temps it's usually sooner.

Not saying it's wrong, but just can't see how they can predict well into the summer.

All it takes is for Mutley's wind to stir up and he lets go an almighty fart and the weather changes globally, even hurricanes tornados and cyclones, probably earthquakes as well. :rofl

Wouldn't be surprised if it were hot though with global warming.
