Humble gratitude too to all who paid the ultimate price to defend what we hold dear. May they rest in peace and may their contributions, courage and selfless sacrifice never be forgotten. As an ex Army man who sadly lost some friends along the way it is a very important day to me. One of those was my great uncle who died at Gallipoli. as a very young man he was sent to fight in the Dardanelles in 1915. He was killed just four days after arriving.
