Well Joe, a bit of a run-down for you:

Noctua

Their fans are world renouned for being the quietest on the consumer market, hence the high price tag of £15 but well worth it, as these run on special oiled bearings which, coupled with the absorption rubber screws help to get rid of all those decibels; according to reviews they even shift a great amount of air too!

Lian-Li

The best Aluminium case-makers in the business, of course another high price tag but the build quality is fantastic with pretty much the whole case built out of aluminium they don't skimp out on quality where others such as Thermaltake or Coolermaster do!

Creative X-Fi

To be honest, not the greatest soundcard but suitable for what I'll be using it for; I've read the reviews and this is rated 8 out of 10 or higher for all so I'm sure its a good purchase! :-)

Samsung

Adding to the silence are the Samsung drives which are very popular amongst media centre users due to the incredibly low noise when in use, also they now employ DVD+/-RW Lightscribe drives with a SATA connection for improved airflow around those Noctua fans!

Asus Motherboards

In the opinions of others these are very reliable motherboards, having looked on the customer reviews at OCUK - you can clock an E6300 to 3.2Ghz using one of these and with SLI as well as Firewire it's perfect for me!

Abit AirPace

Perfect for me, the first Wi-Fi card to use a PCI-E slot; this should ensure fast connections and no lag during gaming! :mrhappy:

Just an update guys, all the kit that I'd ordered arrived yesterday (Tuesday 1st May) and after around two hours or so of Revision I was able to install a majority of the parts!

The Abit AirPace looks tiny, less than 7cm long and a great petite aerial!

Tonight, I've opted to go for the Hiper Type-R 580W Modular PSU, which is SLI compatible should I choose to go for a dual Nvidia card setup, other than that the case is absolutley magnificient, reminissent of the Obelisk out of Space Odyssey: 2001 - along with the DVD Bezel which was worth the £10 to make the Samsung Ligthscribe drive look completely flush! :eyebrow:

I'm very happy with my choices so far, next step is considering whether to go with GeIL or Corsair for ram and whether to have an SLI setup for my graphics as I'll be using rather high resolutions?!!? :mrhappy:

All the best to you lot, speak to you soon! :-)

Always very exciting when your bits come theo :eyebrow:

I use Sharkoon fans, I love em, very quiet and the dimples on the blades increase air flow, the same principle as a golf ball.

Lian-Li do make high quality case, the only thing you have to watch is that some of their models are weird with airflow, the path travelling a very convoluted route.

The PC 7 looks great though with everything arranged as I like it, in fact similar design to mine and a great price.

I love Asus boards but don't know much about the one you chose but I’m sure it's great.

As for your fans, you mention the Noctua case fans but which CPU cooler did you go for??? :mrhappy:

This for your CPU cooler:

The Freezer 7 Pro came out on top along with the Scythe.

Your favourite Noctua isn't there, they didn't test it but it's an interesting read.

Another Update,

Scan say my PSU you order is going to be delayed by around a month due to backlog, I've got a refund thankfully and free delivery off my next order (£8) which I'm pretty chuffed about; instead I'll be going with the Tagan Easycon Modular series, a bit more expensive but a heck of a lot more reliable!

As for the CPU cooler, its another Noctua NH-U9F - Ya see the reason I'm using these Noctua products are because they are most silent around and come with a 6 year warranty! :mrhappy:

I may even get a Noctua Heatsink for the Nortbridge as on the P5N-E, there is no current cooling for it yet there are holes as if there should be! :?:

Noctua Crazy eh!?!

PS: I'll shall consider my bits + bobs, but I know I'm going for an E6600 so far - shall update in around 2 weeks! :eyebrow:

The Northbridge should be cooled by the heat pipe shouldn't it?

Are you sure you are looking at the Northbridge.

The only additional fan that’s required is the included fan if you are passively cooling or water-cooling. It's the same as mine.

Any holes are most likely because they are using a circuit board that's also used for a different motherboard with a fan.

You will be wasting money on an extra fan, unless you are overclocking to an extreme degree.

If it needed one they would have given the board one.

Well, so far the revision has been extremely effective - I'm getting A*'s in the practice French exams; they're so easy!

Anyway back to the subject, as you may have seen in my new post on the hardware section; Intel are set to lower the price dramatically on the Q6600 (Quad-core) processors to around $250 which, after shipping and VAT for the UK should come to something like £160 - so I've chosen to wait until July 22nd until I order my processor; that way I should be able to finance a Quad-core instead of the (fast becoming bog-standard) Dual-core! :mrhappy:

Less than a month till my Birthday so I shall have to see what money I rake in!

Cheers, Theo B
