rob16584 42 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Share Posted October 22, 2008 It was only a short circuit, if you can call a 100nm circuit small, but this flight from KASE-KASE is one of the toughest i've done in a long time. Maybe flying around in Europe has made be go soft... All set for the take off Away we go Climbing out, I decide to skin the mountain tops Wonder where this goes So close you can almost touch it This could get messy Clear air at last Damn weather oh ****! In the middle of it all. I am in level(ish) flight, but it was very disorientating, just imagine what it would be like for real Got out of that one....just. Beginning descent to rwy33, ATC very kindly (!) gave me rwy33 which doesn't have an ILS Think I better loose some height Down we go Touchdown! That Lycoming engine must have been pretty powerful to keep you above those treetops at altitude.
