It so happens I was busy doing student conversions at EDIM when the call came through to pickup the batton and fly it to it's next destination. EDIM to EDDH route Ring ring - Hello! Wayne here, Oh it is, I am on my way over there, Thank You Rob OK, checks complete, lets fly There we go easy off. Ring ring - Hello CP (thats what I call all my Co-Pilots), I just got the call from Rob the battons at EDDH, haul ass and get down there. Get the King preped and ready for our departure, I will go and pick up the batton from the PIC pub when I land, see you at the plane. Bye OK - hold off just a little, easy does it, easy does it, almost there Great CP I have the batton. Is the King ready? Lets just go through the pre-flight checks quick; controls? - "Check cap'n"; Fuel? - "Check cap'n"; Everything off - "Check cap'n"; Pack sheet - "Checked and confirmed cap'n". Right ready for Startup. Arrrrh Man! this is worse than the M25 in the morning. "Aiii cap'n" OK CP it is our turn, I must say this long traffic waited has delayed our departure, which means we will most likely be arriving at ENSO after sunset. OK CP after take off checks, Gear up - "Check cap'n"; Flaps Up - "Check cap'n"; Climb power - "Set cap'n"; Altitude set - "Check cap'n; OK lets switch to AP Alright CP everything looks good, all greens, all set. Well lets sit back and enjoy the ride; " Ai cap'n". Alrighty then, cruise checks; Props set - "Check cap'n"; Cruise Power - "Check cap'n"; Thank you CP. Lets lets sit back and watch, - "Ai cap'n" Good thing we got clearance for this altitude, thats a mill base down there, "Ai cap'n" Man that sunset on the ocean is beautiful, "Sure is cap'n" Man I am glad I am not outside right now, -18 OAT, "Brrrrrr cap'n" The office for CP and I; man he is not a man of many words is he! The office view outside, wow! Some big fluffy stuff out for us to day CP, "Ai cap'n". (as I said not a man of many words) "Land Ahoy cap'n", Thanks CP Ohhh wow CP, looks like we are in for a treat this evening, the Northern Lights are dancing to night. "We are lucky on this trip cap'n". (man he said more than two words) Sun is getting low ain't it. "Ai that it is cap'n" OK, it's time to begin our decent CP, "You call em' cap'n" "Gear down and checked cap'n". Thank You CP. We are down! Great flight there CP, really special. "Ai that it was cap'n". All shut down for the night, Hey CP you lock her up while I go and deliver the batton to the pub, meet me there for a bear on me. "You pay'n cap'n, I'll be there in five" Well I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did, man that CP is an entertaining guy, must have him on the next leg. Joe I hope you do not mind that I added a little extra at the bigining there. I must say a big thank you to you all for allowing me this oppertunity to fly in the ATWC, I do not think I would ever have flown this awsome route if it had not been for ATWC. Thanks Guys. As well as some fantastic shots (That's the first time the Northern Lights have featured in ATWC) sunsets to die for and a CP who is a laugh a minute (Arrrrh Man! this is worse than the M25 in the morning. "Aiii cap'n") , this is about as good as it gets . Thanks for getting us safely to Norway, as you say the ATWC certainly gets us out of our own comfort zone, I'm glad you are enjoying it :yes: Cheers Link to post Share on other sites
