Hello all, i'm new here so here is a quick introduction:

My name is Ivan and i am a 16 year old Dutch Flight Sim enthusiast.

I have been playing FSX since the box version first came out (my dad pre-ordered it for me)

I got a total of 40000 hours on box and steam version.

I preordered AH2 and made a new company called GSW logistics 2 months ago, Base in ELLX Luxembourg.

(GSW aka Global Skyways was a VA i had for 1 year but had to shut it down due to finacial issues)

here is my current fleet:

4 737-700C (For big short haul cargo jobs, all flown by Ai)

2 757-200M (For big medium haul. 1 by AI, 1 as my personal plane. Since it is a combi i can still earn cash from passengers if there are nearby cargo jobs)

2 C130's (For big jobs to airports with small runways. Flown by AI)

I currently have 10 Ai passengers.

Bases:

ELLX Luxembourg

LOWS Salzburg

They both have a long ILS runway and are quite cheap.

Now here is a question to you peeps:

Buy more 737-700C or

Get a Long haul/Big Cargo Capacity A/c (747F, 777F, etc)

Start doing pax

Open a new base (where)

Focus more on STOL aircrafts (C130)

Happy Hauling

Sincerely Ivan

Welcome aboard, Ivan.  Welcome to Mutley's Hangar.  Happy to have another AirHaulic aboard.

Re your questions - no opinion on the aircraft - I'm not the tube-liner type.  If I had to make a pick, consider the CS C-130.  it's a hoot to fly.

Scheduled pax are easy money - add a plane, hire a pilot, set up a route and watch the money flow in if you chose the route wisely.  About the only "management" it needs is to pay attention to the aircraft condition and repair it if your AI pilot happens to damage it.

For a new base location, pick an airport rich environment, well within the range of the length of flights you prefer.  Isolated bases are generally more trouble than they are worth.

Look hard at missions and commodity trading - both are gold mines if you choose wisely.

Hi Ivan and welcome to Mutley's Hangar.:hat:

I have kind of lost touch with AH and only kept it to flying a fleet of Beavers when I did so not sure what advice I can give you. From the looks of your company it doesn't look like you need much advice but the good thing is there are quite a few AH fanatics residing here that will be happy to wade in and give you their views.:)

Now if it was to save my life I would offer the advice that there is a plus to getting another of the same aircrafts you already own so that the AI pilots would already be checked out on them and you wouldn't lose any money during the "Get to know and bust things stage". Then again the larger aircraft hauls more so you make more. The top advice I would give you is fly what you like to fly for the times you are piloting. :twocents:

Thank you for your quick reply sir,

I shall do a quick investigation into the kind of jobs i'm getting, i probably will expand my C130 fleet as Salzburg has some quite interesting jobs perfect for the C130.

i am planning to lease an A330-300 for pax asit can carry up to 440pax in Premium and standard Economy. (ELLX to OMAA as it's cheaper than OMDB)

I already have a factory at Luxembourg and designated 1 737-700C for the resources. Missions is more of a hassle to me as i don't like time limits as some of them require you to go near max speed to be within time limit (Which burns a heck of lot more fuel)

Planning to open a base in Orly, Paris. Good secondary airport to serve Paris. Also opening an Airport in EGMH Manston to operate in the Southern UK parts and channel, planning on leasing 3 Dash 8 Q300 (Q300 due to it's STOL capabilities) and 1 Q400 for Pax to probably Shannon and Cork.

I do tend to look at the price per 100lbs and per 100nm for Cargo jobs, also if the Size of the cargo is higher then my planes Capacity i tend to take jobs with a late expiration date.

Sincerely

Ivan

Hi and welcome to Mutley's ! :)

I operate 2 AH companies ( opened and closed a few more... ), but my largest planes are Twotters, so I'm affraid I won't be able to help you !  ;)

Besides that , I'm still operating with AH 1...

Thanks Sir Martin and Sir Allard.

I will lease 6 (CS)C130's instead of the dash 8's for EGHI.

One day my Guided NAAFI Delivery Service and Tea Shoppe is going to get resurrected in some form . . . (trouble was it got so big I didn't have enough time in the day to keep it running. And that was just with a fleet of just Twotters and Islanders. I had repaints and everything! )
