UKJim 502
Hi, So as you all know I stream, and my usual livery is a home-made one dedicated to my son - so given the fact I am flying the connie now a few times, I thought I needed to paint this ...
rosariomanzo 545
Looking good on those streamlined shapes, I like the checkerboard pattern on the cowl flaps too.

mutley 4,498
Nice repaint Jim and I'm sure Zach will really appreciate it when he gets older!
Captain Coffee 2,030
I knew your paint would look great on those Connie lines. Both are swoopy and classy. Nice job Jim.
brett 2,316
I was actually a bit skeptical it could be pulled off but you threw it in my face, great looking repaint Jim.
UKJim 502
Thanks guys - I feel there are parts where I am picky and would change, but it's quite a lot of effort, so I think it will remain I really enjoy this plane - apart from trimming - IT JUST WON'T TRIM LEVEL!!! Thanks again - it's such a great community
Captain Coffee 2,030
Try reducing the levator trim effect in the aircraft.cfg...sometimes the trim force is too strong and it is hard to find a Center of balance with the trim adjustment set too Coarse. it is found here in this section pulled from a random plane in my hangar: [flight_tuning] cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0 pitch_stability = 1.0 roll_stability = 1.0 yaw_stability = 1.0 parasite_drag_scalar = 2.3 induced_drag_scalar = 1.0 elevator_effectiveness = 1.0 aileron_effectiveness = 1.0 rudder_effectiveness = 1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0 (Try changing this to 0.90, or 0.85, or whatever works after a bit of experimenting. aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.0 rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0 hi_alpha_on_yaw = 1.0 p_factor_on_yaw = 0.3 torque_on_roll = 0.3 gyro_precession_on_yaw = 0.3 gyro_precession_on_pitch = 0.3 gyro_precession_on_roll = 0.3 Fyi...I found it helpful to make a Reset Airplane hotkey for monkeying with this kind of cfg stuff on the fly..that way you can save the .cfg while the game/airplane is paused, and then Reset the Plane to make the new changes active. My hotkey is Ctrl+Alt+R...no way i'll hit that by accident. Cheers.
Lucy.P 168
Agreed, real nice repaint. It was so refreshing to see an old classic flown on Twitch, most of the planes on there are the same old same.
brett 2,316
I wouldn't mess with the .CFG Jim, Accumsim has special coding and as I have stated before these values are just a default setting for the special coding to work from and any changes can cause other unforeseen problems down the line. The problem is not with the elevator trim though, it can be caused by weather program settings being too high or just the fact that this is how the original aircraft was. The auto pilot is an older version and the pilot needs to do more work during flight.
