mulletman 0
Is it Miami Opa Locka (OPF) or Miami Kendall-Tamiami Executive (TMB)? Sorry, its neither. However the way you got those is a clue...although you probably wont get the airport based on it. I also ran the reg number too, but the matches seem unlikely when the other clue I found in the pictures was considered. The above are just wild guesses by the way, didn't have time to check the layouts. Sorry, on this occasion the Reg is not a clue - i didnt have time to look up a real one, this is just the Default one in FSX. That said the airport is well within the boiundries that you would expect to find 'N' registred aircraft of this type flying about in.

mutley 4,498
Well, it has a fence. I like it already....John Ok Dai let's get the obvious ones out of the way. Andrews Airforce Base ? It might help if you turned the sound on! Cheers
ddavid 149
Not with this bird's engines, Joe! Oh, yes, no it's not AAFB - sorry.... Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
ddavid 149
Not many visitors to the base at this time of year - just some-one with a penchant for fences: I used to walk to the gate at the other end of the runway and watch these ugly ducklings claw their way into the sky - making a fabulous racket and generating huge clouds of smoke as they left on yet another re-fuelling mission. Here's one for you, Joe: Love to carry on with the reminiscences, but that would make it too easy :!: C'mon lads - it's not that difficult......... Cheers - Dai.
allardjd 1,853
Patrick AFB, KCOF, near Melbourne FL? Terrain looks about right. The only thing higher than the top of the fence is the tower. John
mulletman 0
well i have been banned from guessing so im not saying anything!
ddavid 149
Sorry, John, everywhere in FSX looks the same, doesn't it? It's not Melboure, Australia either, but they do speak the same language! Y'know I didn't mean you were banned, Fred - hey, guess away - you've probably got a more demanding spot up your sleeve...... :!: Cheers - Dai.
mutley 4,498
Well it cant be Ocala otherwise John would have recognised it! So how about Upper Heyford EGUA :?: I know you have mentioned to me where you lived before you moved to Wales, but I just cannot remember where it was :sadblinky: Cheers
mulletman 0
We are assuming this is in the UK right? If so, the aircraft must mean its one of the USAF bases. Not Fairford is it? (yes i know, that was a shot in the dark)
mutley 4,498
Oh B:censored: , I think you are correct Fred It was Fairford (well nearby) that Dai used to live near :???:
ddavid 149
EGVE Fairfod it is!! Hey - Fred - well done. :???: It could have been Mildenhall with the KC-135, but it is indeed Fairfod. My mum and dad used to live in Marston Meysey when Concorde 02 (prototype) was going through testing. Then, in 1979 (I think), the USAF came back with the fuelers. I do indeed remember the b*ggers hauling themselves into the air, at the end of the 3km (sic) runway, all four engines belching smoke and noisy beyond. There's a lane leading down to the east end of the field, where you could get close and personal - with the aircraft, Joe! Over to you, Fred...... Cheers - Dai.
mutley 4,498
Dai, I knew what you were talking about :mrhappy: Should have got that one a bit quicker. Now that I'm back up and running hopefully I can pay more attention to the forum  Fred not too difficult please, I want a go! (If I can get there before John & Dai!!) Cheers
mulletman 0
Fred not too difficult please, I want a go! (If I can get there before John & Dai!!) Feel free to take this one on - we still havent guessed that aircraft. Had no idea it was Fairford, that was just a guess based on the fact that there was "not much activity this time of year" and that is was a USAF base.
mutley 4,498
Ok Fred, I have to re-download the aircraft and I will endeavour to post a new location tomorrow and start a new post I think. I will lock this one now. Thansk to all who participate in this little slice of fun :mrhappy:
