AirSimmer A320 Basic Edition released

Recommended Posts

I decided not to publish this in our press release section as any company knowingly releasing an unfinished product to market, only available for FS9 and for $40 has got to be joking?

An extract from their product page-

Although it was always our intention to release a completely bug free product, the realities of the current economic crisis affecting all of us to some measure, have forced us to reconsider and to release the Basic edition before each and every bug has been fixed.

Although we are proud of what the team has accomplished thus far, we want to categorically state that, even though none of the remaining bugs are critical to product performance, we are by no means satisfied with the state of the product. We are absolutely aware of every bug currently unfixed in the Basic edition and commit to you that our team will not rest until they are dealt with through frequent updates via the AirSimmer Tablet PC.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we proceed to fix these remaining imperfections.

I am sure the finished article will be good and it should be for $90 for the complete advance model.

Cheers

Reading between the lines (which I love to do a lot) it sounds like they are struggling financially with their statement here and they have decided to release it in order to generate cash flow more quickly, probably due to poor sales.

However this could massively back fire if peoples confidence isn't restored with an option to upgrade to the finished product at a cheaper price to show good faith to people that supported it. Also it could effect them if people don't read that statement as to why the product has been released like that and they just buy it only to find bugs.

I'm in a similar position with Wilco Publishing at the moment as I recently bought A400M Air Lifter and found it to be not the greatest add-on and it seems the FSX version isn't as good as the 2004 by all counts. I have to download a fix to get the virtual cockpit to work correctly in Heavy Rain/Snow which another member on here has worked out for me and the inside view of the cargo doesn't work either. I Probably will be deterred to buy another Wilco Publishing product as there are better on the market.

You have a problem with the cargo view? Have you opened the cockpit door before you switch to the cargo view? Otherwise nothing turns up in the cargo view, as stated in the manual.

I have tried that, u can actually see though from the inside of the plane, which I am assuming because it doesnt work, plus I cannot work out how to open the rear cargo door, says in the manual you can assign a key, but when you go to edit controls it's no where to be seen. I am sure I read somewhere it doesn't work when running FSX & DX9, are you running the same?

Any help would be appreciated..

The rear cargo door I havn't tried yet. But I do think I too have seen that it's a FS9 only feature. Running a similar setup as you yes.

As for the cargo view I've had no problems with that as long as I remeber to open the cockpit door. Do you have DX10 preview active in FSX? If so, disable it and try again.
