Favourite Add-On of 2009

Recommended Posts

I thought i'd start a thread to gauge people's opinions on what their favourite add-ons were/are for 2009. Maybe we should do it with categories rather than just 1 particular add-on as there are so many out there at the moment?

GA

Commercial Airliner

Scenery

Utility

Military

Anything else...

Nice topic Rob

My choices are pretty predictable I'm afraid.

GA - Flight1 / Realair Duke

Commercial Airliner - PMDG MD-11

Scenery - Full Terrain eXperience

Utility - Addit Pro - essential for adding scenery layers in Windows 7 http://www.byteforge.com/

Military - Aerosoft F-16 Falcon / Catalina

Other - REX2

Freeware FS Recorder and Formation Flyer

Hardware - Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel

My overall choice for best product for 2009 goes to Air Hauler, innovative, addictive and fun! :)

GA: Piper Cub with Accusim

Commercial Airliner: Lot's to choose from but my favourite is the PMDG J41

Scenery: FTX

Utility: Air Hauler (if you can call it a utility)

Military: PBY Catalina

Other add-ons that i've really enjoyed this year:

Aerosofts African Airstrip Adventures

Just Flight Constellation

Captain Sim 727 + 767

Just Flight/Carenado range of GA aircraft

I think now that the developers have gotten more used to FSX we are getting some fantastic add-ons on the market

Hi Guys,

I would say that I have really expanded my collection of add-ons for FSX this year and my favourite all time one must go to AirHauler which has meant I look at FSX in a totally new way and the good old sim now has some purpose instead of my flying around on my own in free flight.

I would also recommend REX 2 and Aerosoft's Mega Airport series as these add more realism to FSX also.

I haven't really found a great aircraft pack, although I only have three so far and I tend to stick with a default Boeing 737-800 painted up in SlimAir Logistics livery, I seem to get on with this one better.

Scenery - Dree's KOCF (come on, if someone did custom scenery of your local airport, you'd pick that too, and it's quite well done)

Other - AirHauler, hands down

Freeware - ADE9X

Hardware - TrackIR 5
