  1. Yes John that's my point only the GPS will tell you how fast you are going at altitude, as it's reference points have no atmosphere to change there speed.
  2. John surely the only accurate speed indication is the GPS ground speed, as it is taken from satellites in Clarke orbits. All other speed indicators are relative, to the air you are in that under normal conditions will be in motion.
  3. Thanks for the referral John.
  4. I love Cricket but not 50 or the 20 over guff, the real game is 20 wickets per side over 5 days. Not a slog session, where hanging on to your wicket has no relevance.
  5. You could run it outside but you will need to get a cat 5 crimping tool. As one end will need to be without an end to get it though the grommets in the wall for keeping the rain out. It could be better to use cable clips to secure it internally, as the crimping can be a hassle with 6 wires. If you want them hidden, why not chase the wall out and run it in conduit.or capping.
  6. If you want the best speed Mutley keep the router in the master phone socket, and have cat 5 to the computers.
  7. I normal go for the download option but with AirHauler I had no option but to have the boxed as download was not available at the time. So when I found out about it I looked for the best price I could find and settled on play.com. They were offing it at a much lower price than Just Flight, and had given me good service in the past. Had I known how good Duncan's after sales service is, and how little he gets from boxed sales at the time. I may have made a different choice on who to buy it from, but with no knowledge of Duncan and wanting the best price I made my choice. I like the shareware opt
  8. I'm having to re-wire the flat at the moment, so I am making loads of dust. I only stuck the nosle in to hover the worst of the crud out, as it will soon fill up again. Once the re-wire is done it will get a full pull apart clean.
  9. Yep when are we getting Mr Allard to change from that out dated FS to FSX?
  10. When I built my box I put this fan controller it, the display shows the fan speeds and has 4 temp monitors that can go where you want them. It also shows how much power the psu is demanding from to ring-main. http://www.zalman.com/Eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=341 I have seen a 10c increase in the temp on the video card temps recently, so got the hover out and went dust hunting. I also took the opportunity to get the camera out, and have put pics in the show us your rig thread.
  11. I'm short of cash at the mo, but would be willing to put my silly orange suit on. To pull them out of there cars if the track they use is close enough to me. I don't have facebook, but will get my lass to have a look as she is one of those that use that dodgy site. Edit: Looking at Paul's facebook page it's a run rather than a banger race. I have not asked the MSA for a letter of authorization to marshal aboard yet, so would not be able to marshal the circuits they will be attending.
  12. Mut's Spaghetti look loads better than mine, but I have gone crazy with instruments and monitors.
  13. Very nice it looks far to clean though, must have got more dust in it now. The feet also look a bit short, but with no bottom intakes you probably only need to lift it a small amount. I like the drive cooling fan on the front. I would need to remove a drive bay to get a fan under mine.
  14. Thanks Nedles. The flight sim computer case came with large feet, but could do with a chunk of 18mm ply to lift it a bit more. I will have to get round to sorting that, when I make a rig to stop my my CH pro peddles from moving. The internet computer is not put under much pressure so the cardboard, should not need to be changed for 18mm ply. The only temps that I have seen an increase in on the fan controller. Was the video card ones, but they had gone up by 10c so thought it was time to get the hover in there.
