Aircraft Aviation 2
We begin the next section of Leg 10 with two new, more experienced pilots, Al and Ross. They seem to have a poetic nature to their speech, as you are about to experience... Jomo Kenyatta to Bole Intl, Part 2 of 3, of Leg 10 Al: Hi ross, what Aircraft are we Flying? Ross: The guy said an A300, he better not be lying. Al: Yup! He was right! There she stands! Ross: Hmmm... She looks heavy, I wonder how she lands? Al: Light as a feather! She'll just glide down. Ross: Good! Because I'm not going around. Al: Our preflights are done, time to get going. Ross: You know, I would've much preferred a Boeing. Al: Well - We're lined up. Is the baton secure? Ross: It's as safe as it'll ever be without tying it to the floor. Al: V1! Rotate! Ross: Arrghh!! This bit I hate! Al: Now we're going into the climb. Ross: We're leaving airspace. Give ATC the sign. Al: The view ahead looks lovely and blue. Ross: Wait! Who's in control? Me or you? Al: Wow! Look at that sun! Ross: I know. ATWC sure is fun. Al: Lots of Cumulus clouds in the air. Ross: Just makes you want to stare... Al: Okay. Now - We're in the cruise Ross: The distance left to HAAB gives me the blues... Al: Not far now! It won't be long. ross: Okay Al. I hope you're not wrong. Al: Only 80NM off. We're in the decent! Ross: Ugh. When we land we need a hotel to rent. Al: That's all fine. Joe pays for that. Ross: Awesome then. I'm putting on my celebration hat. Al: What's that then? Ross: Just a cap made from feathers of Wren. Al: Gear down. Flaps down. Spoilers armed. Ross: I really hope the baton hasn't been harmed. Al: There's the runway! We're finally here! Ross: I hope Joe pays for the expenses on beer... Al: We're off the runway! Wait... Is that confetti? Ross: Probably
