mutley 4,498
Most people know I have a love of the Spitfire, being my local built aircraft she will always be my favourite. Here are some shots of the new Just Flight Spitfire, even though these are shots of a product in development I think this must be Aeroplane Heavens best looking model to date! Enjoy. Cheers, Mut
needles 1,013
My my Mut' shot #11, you're looking younger by the day. What's your secret. Great shots, great aircraft. Nuff said. regards young-un!
hurricanemk1c 195
The secret is flying Spit's! Great shots! I know I'm being picky, but that bump on the wing was for the cannons - see photo of P7350 below : http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/rafcms/media ... 37B9BB.jpg

rob16584 42
Brilliant! I saw the press release yesterday and began drooling
jankees 917
I wondered about those bumps on the wings too.... To be honest, it looks nice, with a very detailed VC, but the textures seem to me somewhat disappointing. Too clean and smooth, even though they do show some scuff marks, the rest looks like new, a bit strange really. But then I like them worn and dirty... We'll have to wait and see, I'm not drooling just yet.. edit: I guess I'd better show what I mean, compare these with the first shots (and yes, those bumps are there too, I guess they belong) Personally, I feel these textures look better, more 'real' than the shots posted before, so that is why I'm not drooling. Maybe the model is better, maybe the flight model is better, maybe the sounds are better, but the textures are not. At least, in my opinion.
mutley 4,498
I agree your textures do look better, did you paint this one JanKees? Which model is that one? Sorry for all the questions
jankees 917
No, I did not paint that one, those are the default textures for the A2A Spitfire that you can find here.

mutley 4,498
I just had a look on my network and found I already had the A2A version! The cockpit on the A2A model does have it's merits but the main 6 look very flat in comparison. There are a lot more items and clickable goodies in the AH model. Now if we could just get the texture quality as good as the A2A it would be perfect. My pictures of the AH are of the development model and not the final product but I don't think they will be changing it much. Joe
simi_av8r 0
I wondered about those bumps on the wings too.............(and yes, those bumps are there too, I guess they belong) The bumps you're referring to Jan i assume are on the upper surface of the wing, no? If so, there are a number of theories, the two most prevalent are as follows: [*:23equmcf]they are used to accommodate a tiny section of the wheels when retracted and were only present on early marks of the Spitfire. If you look at some of the later marks, you'll find it to be missing owing to a change of wheel type and slimmer tyres being used. and [*:23equmcf]the raised bump is close to the ammunition feed for the browning machine guns, and acts to cool the ammunition as it is fed to the barrel nobody knows for sure, but it'd be great to find out! jankees 917
A2A, as far as I know, are working, or will start working on an accu-simmed version of their Spit, and if the previous a-s birds are anything to go by, then that will be the one to beat I think. However, that is still (far) in the future, after the recent B-17, I believe we'll get the Mustang next......oh boy... And yes, let's hope they produce better textures for the AH spit, though that has never been their strong point, I never liked the Mosquito for instance because of that..
