Last one before the battery died.

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Just one quick shot form RIAT to prove that I am trying to sort them out.

This was a static aircraft at the event, the Boeing Stearman. This shot was the final one before my battery (only rated for 500 non flash shots) finally died. Shot number 7988 on my camera, and 644 on the day. Yey for digital.

Shot remains unedited apart form resizing and tagging.

Full size one available on request, and my 68 best should be up soon.

Peace and Love

Fred.

Stunning Fred, Just stunning.

I am really looking forward to your selection, particularly of the flying as mine were rubbish!

I hope to see what else you have before I put my order in, will there be a limit?

Cheers

Although i just PM's you, im about to PM you again. :mrhappy:

I have to brigten a lot of them, becuse the early ones were very dark. But no major work, just making them a litte more pleasing on the eye.

This is the same AC that's in one of Theo's shots.

Indeed it is, Fred - you say you needed to lighten yours?

Just a question, weren't you on the day that was sunny with hardly any cloud cover and how comes you did not increase the Apeture or ISO? :yikes:

PS: I didn't brighten mine! :mrhappy:

PS Again: What camera model do you use, is it a proper SLR?

You boys should have been a pro with me, twenty years ago. :yikes:

There was none of this, 'hmmm! I think I’ll lighten this one and tweak it a bit on my PC.' :mrhappy: In those days it was ‘shading’ or ‘burning in’ the thing under an enlarger, messing with the exposure etc. Nothing like the magic (cheating) you can do today.

Just kidding, digital photography enables us to unleash our creativity far easier. :-)

Thanks for the feedback folks. And Martin for pointing out how wonderful DSLR's are. :mrhappy:

I was playing around with settings constantly. Although the day did end sunny, there were still a number of clouds, and particully in the morning, it was very dark.

Another problem i was finding was that as i folloed the aircraft from right to left, the light would change completely. You only have to look at my B1 lancer takeoff shots to see that. Whilst sitting at the end of the runway, it was too bright, and as it went past it got darker. Obvoulsy becuse the aircraft was accelerating there was no way i could change it as it went down the runway.

As for the aperture and ISO speed, i didnt play with these too much, as i didnt need to. I did up the aperture a little to slow the shutter speed for heli's, becuse other wise it was looking like the blades had stopped rotating!

It is indeed. The Canon 400D. Fantastic piece of kit. I dont know about you but i saw so many poeple with them on saturday.
