rosariomanzo 545
Early morning in Toncontin. :icon_welcomeani: I've spent all night talking with Felipe, the barman, about this and that. Frankly, I don't remember. I should do something today, but alcohol is circling together with my blood and... I don't remember. Things come clear when Felipe gives me the bill and a strange blue baton... AH!!!! THE BATON!!! THE CHALLENGE!!!! THE AIRCRAFT!!!! NOW I REMEMBER!!!! I HAVE TO FLY!!!! "Felipe, please add a cup of super-concentrated coffee, take this credit card (thanks, Joe!), wear this nice hat and come with me, you will be my copilot!" While singing "Early in the mornin' and I ain't got nothing but the bluuuuuue", we reach the apron and start our workflow. "Wow!" is the only thing Felipe can say. All setup, engines are going to spool up. Check the altitude! Pushing back, Felipe still doesn't know why is he in the copilot seat... Ok, let's switch on some nice lights and start taxi to runway 02: "ATW042, winds calm, runway 02, cleared for takeoff" "Woooohoooooooooo!!!!!!" Felipe says... and, indeed, what a climb rate! Following our departure procedure: Reaching our cruising altitude: In a while, we are on the sea: "Fly me to the mooooooon", i go on singin': Over 1400NM flown, we are now starting our descent to destination: Let's check the weather .... mumble mumble ... AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!! We expect wind at 042kts, with gusts at 60kts. Felipe starts to worry a bit. "Another cup of super-concentrated coffe, Ros?" "Yes, thanks!" Performing a VOR procedure, we are now turning on radial inbound: What a crab angle! Felipe asks me why our nose points to the mountain... "Felipe, shut up, please." Well, not exactly on centerline, but a nasty gust was blowing us away: Full reverse, Felipe starts to breathe again: And here we are: "Felipe, wait for the stairs before getting out of the airc.... oh well, nevermind" Hope you enjoyed this flight as I did. Ciao!!! :hi:
